AEM AEM Calibration
#26
Couple of things I've learned lately:
Wastegate takes some time to respond... keep error corrections pretty small, for instance -5% at 1 psi overboost and +5% at 1 psi underboost. Changing WG duty too quickly allows the boost to oscillate.
User defined PW output responds too slowly and doesn't have enough resolution for controlling prespool actuator with sequential twins. Re-wired my car to use the Fuel #9 output (controlled by the Variable Valve Control map), much better boost control at low RPMs before the secondary is active. Difficult to explain how, but if someone else is running sequential twins with an EMS let me know and I can send a copy of my map (warning, hasn't seen a dyno yet so no guarantees on fuel and timing values, but the boost control works reasonably well).
OEM thermowax valve changes the throttle position when the engine is cold, which completely screws with idle control. Recommend ditching it.
AEM-supplied battery offset values for stock 550cc and 850cc injectors are probably wrong, as discovered by Quick_R2. I've got my injectors out of the car right now and will try to have them tested during the downtime before everything is re-assembled.

I would like to see the calibration you made if ok? I still have not been able to fire mine up on the AEM, but its mainly due to my lack of knowledge with it. I have been reading every night on it and starting to get it but looking at other maps and comparing them also provides some good info for me.
