I had the series 1 almost ready to go, then moved.
I currently have a series 2 mitsu talon box I am adapting. Havent had time , but will next weekend.
, I will keep track on the wiring diagram and what I did.
basically what you need to do , is get donor plugs ( that match your AEM box ) , and use the pin out from AEM ( with aid of the OEM manual ) to fire the outputs and get your inputs.
eg ( this is a rough data )

the fd3 and Evo 8 uses the same 4 plug for the Ecu. My Evo 8 Ecu plugs on the the 13brew loom perfectly. After I change the pin on the loom to match the corresponding pins on the Evo I would then load the rx7 file on the Evo Ecu? What about the leading and trailing parts ?
Because the evo8 output pins are probably not the same as the RX7. You will have to make a PATCH harness.
You can re assign some of the out / inputs, but it will make it hard. Easiest is to work with a patch harness.
either , cut off the plugs on the FD harness and solder to correct pin out (have to be very careful and make sure you dont screw anything up, or make a piggy back harness ( i recommend this option ) .
Or wire it up as a full stand alone. aka make a new harness.
I am making a new harness for my swap,
