Adaptronic 314rwhp @ 7psi with E440D wire in model in under 15 minutes

314rwhp @ 7psi with E440D wire in model in under 15 minutes
Louie at lucky7Racing installed this overnight into their shop FC while I was out for a tuning trip/sevenstock. After I set the base map and Louie checked timing( like 10 minutes) I had this car to 314rwhp in 6 pulls, probably under 15 minutes of work starting the fuel map from SCRATCH!
I also turned the boost up slightly, but it crept on the next pull to 350rwhp/350rwtq @ like 4500rpms( 16psi) and the AFR curve was dead on...
I tuned a ton of other cars completely in under 1 hour too( outside of mechanical changes, and showing these guys the ropes on the ECU).
Moral of the story is using these ecus speeds up the time tuning tremendously , it also makes it very easy to lay out the rest of the map, and be near spot on when you change boost pressures. It also makes it a lot easier to get a very nice smooth afr curve, which you can actually feel driving. lastly it makes it A LOT harder to blow up an engine, in the event of overboosting, or during initial tuning.

Ok, I'm thinking about running one of these on my s4/s5 engine FB to replace an old microtech mtx8.
Trying to figure out what i will need to put a purchase list together.
Im wondering what loom will be required and if any extra sensors or inputs will be needed, and what ignition is generally used with these ecus?
Will my existing bosch HEC715 coils be ok? Do i need some kind of an ignitor box?
Thinking to run 4x 1000cc or 4x 1200cc injectors
Id like to keep things as simple as possible, car is running a TDX61 on a properly built streetport. Goals are *whatever* at 15psi on 98ron petrol.
Forgive my ignorance, I really have no idea, but am good with my hands. Due to the shortage of "tuners" around these parts, it is preferable for me to do the work myself, although i live just around the corner from possibly the best rotary builder in the southern hemisphere, he is very busy and prefers not to tune peoples cars let alone have to **** around working on them, he will do mine as he did all the machine work on the engine, but i really would prefer to be able to present him with something that is ready to tune.
So basically, any vendors reading this that can hold my hand working out the components i will need, and a base map that will get it running, you will quite possibly have a sale!

You have to use an external ignitor with all Adaptronic models. I would just switch to the ign1a coils as they have a built in ignitor at $72 a piece( with connectors and terminals). External ignitors alone usually run $40 anyhow. Injectors will be fine for 15 psi on pump. You do not need any new sensors, the e420d or e440 have built in 4 bar map sensors. You will want a long flying lead loom to make a fresh new harness. If you just want to splice into your microtech harness get a short loom.

Thanks Turblown. After looking at a few options it looks like the Adaptronic and a set of the mercury marine ign1a coils might be the most cost effective option.
Would the e420 be sufficient, or is the e440 worth the extra coin? What are the differences in a nut-shell?

420d does not do traction control, flex fuel control or Adaptive( self tuning ). It still can use a wideband for closed loop afr control however. Ecus and coils are in stock.

I got rotorpsi1's setup AusRotary.com ? Login going remotely (he tuned it himself after I walked him through setup) with the old 420C which had nowhere near as good rotary support as the current software.

Will the adaptronic offer better drivability and cleaner burn to the point it is worth buying one, or will the microtech with the nicer injectors be ok?
I dont particularly need the extra functionality to run boost control, e-fan, e-water pump (maybe, down the track) and water/meth injection, as all those systems can be run on seperate controllers.
Just wondering if the actual tune will be that much better that it will be worth my while to fork out $**** and then have to friggen wire everything in.
