I77 & I40 Crossroads rotary meet

Well a while back a couple of guys meet up in statesville at my house, i know there has to be plenty of people within 30 mins- 1hr in either direction on I77 and I 40. I77and I 40 is a direct connection to some bigger towns. We are looking to maybe have a meet in the next couple weeks, if the weather is not bad. I would like to have a meet somewhere we can grab some food and maybe hit some roads. If anyone is interested what dates, and times? I figure a lunch thing and people that would like to go for a drive there are plenty of nice curves around here. I keep seeing people located in mooresville, hickory, statesville, huntersville, mocksville, and others but never meet with them. i know we had a good turn out about a yr ago near charlotte but its time again. I think up here is pretty straight shot for most. Well lets just see the responses.????

thanks robert

I hear ya. We are always getting pm's from guys in the area saying " Hey, you live near me. Let's get together some time. " So, here we are. Rob and myself have been trying to get a regular local thing together for a while. We have people saying they are interested, but we hardly see them. If you guys want to do this, we need your support.

I think we are trying to hard. All we can do is put the offer out there guys. We just thought that it would be a good thing to do it here in Statesville. I know that everone wants a meet as close as possible to where they live, but we decided that here would be a good focal piont. We are waiting!

you know Ill be there. 1st gens are dominating this area.

I should have the car back on the road tomorrow. replacing the battery cables for a good 5 hp increase. I was getting about 8V of volrage drop to the starter. . . no good. so now that the starter problem is settled. I am ready for another meet.

I'm right off I77 in Columbia and spend a lot of time in Charlotte. I'd be down.. always like meeting up with other rotary folks and seeing their cars. How about the 2nd weekend in March or the first weekend in April?

well the first weekend of the month would be this weekend and hey mine might not be back together LOL but what the heck, will still go, just have to catch a ride.

sure first weekend of the month would work, we need to be consistant with our dates so it becomes routine, and not just random.

cool, just to let you know, the SC club meets the first Saturday of every month. There might be a few people like myself who would like to try to attend either or both. C

I will be there, but it really depends on if I bring my RX or the protege... I want to bring the RX but I have to get it back running

Plus, when we meet I can bring all my spare SA parts I have lying around.

Ok. So, the first Saturday of the month will be this Saturday. I wasn't thinking do it this Saturday. I was hoping the next first Saturday to give people time. Should have been more clear on that one. Well, this Saturday is supposed to be about 45 and partly cloudy. If we want to try the following Saturday, that fine. That will give me time to hopefully get my other carb I building done for the turbo FB. The currunt one is driving me nuts! Rob? What you think?

yeah this weekend is a little close. we should maybe meet next saturday and then we can discuss when to start meeting. i like the first or third saturday of the months. I think the third would be nice, maybe if we dont do it on RRDI or SC's meet dates we could possibly get some others that could make it. just a thought.

i think with the way the weather has been and being a few of us are stilll in the rebuild stage or modifing stage we should hold off a few weeks.

I personally think we should have a standard meet and eat once a month, on the third saturday of the month, that way if a couple close by SC or RRDI guys might come, it wont mess with there normal meet.

if some one needed help we could meet an extra time at there place to lend a hand, for ex. Arockrx7 has his engine out and looking to do a trans plant and sure he would like some help, so if some guys wanted to help, that would be cool, am i right ERIC??

well i will try to talk with some restraunts and see if we could get permission to use their parking lot to meet and then go in and eat.

ill keep it posted

of course. I am in some needs of some help. I really need some of the specialty tools such as the dowl pin remover, fly wheel brake, and rotor bearing puller.
