You're Not Going to Believe my Compression test results
Well boys and girls, I finally made my 1000 mile mark breaking in my new street ported motor. Yesterday I did the compression test. I don't have access to one of those units that give you the little graph to tell the comprssion on all 3 points on both rotors but what I did use was a unit that screws in at the leading spark plug hole with just a gauge.
The guys who built the motor told me that if I get 105-110 psi ..that's good and I can start bringing up the boost slowly to 5 psi..7 psi etc.
Well .. knowing my luck these days I didn't want to hold the gauge so I went into the car to turn the key while my mechanic was under the hood. My mechanic told me that he has never actually seen more than 90 psi on any rotary ..in 17 yrs .
well... After tumbling the first time to check the front housing.. he yelled out HOLY COW !! and held up the gauge to the windshield.. I couldn't believe it..
125 psi ..check the rear rotor.. 125 psi !!
Hold **** !
I really did take my time and stage the break in period ..the first 500 miles was all below 3000 rpm and no boost then I would bring it up every now and again to 4000 rpm with no boost. When I was about 800 miles I would take it up to 5000 rpm a few times slowly with no boost...but I did manage to look up on the odd occasion I had to pull in front of someone or get away from a taxi ..and saw 5 psi boost... Oh well
Where do I go from here ? Can I start beating on it
or should I still take her easy until I cross the 2000 mile mark ?

Take it easy like I did. It's really tempting to finally have your car back on the road and not blast away the rice boys on your bumper

I know bro .. just hang in there. The first day I got my car running, an Integra Type R and a turbo Prelude wanted to play and I couldn't
Now that I'm ready for them I can't find anyone on the streets at night ... where did they all go ??
I use to tell myself. "they're not wort me blowing my new engine, I'll get them later" ..just keep mumbling that to yourself and you should be ok

All the seals on the rotor break in actually very fast and are probably good to go after about 500 miles or so, the Rotor bearings and front/rear mail bearings are what take a long time to break in, that's if you've used new bearings...
