DamonB: I was just trying to can the sealed vs. ported debate ... I didn't mean to imply you were starting it. I think what we discussing is more terminology, etc that is hard to do over an internet conversation. I think we both would probably agree on everything if talking face to face so I am willing to let it slide. Just for the record, I am not ignorant and you don't appear to be either. I got my EE degree because I took up an interest in electronics and car audio in high school. I understand the theory pretty well. My friend owns a car audio shop and over the years he's sold MANY different brands and done many different types of installs. So ... good luck with your box.
To everyone else .... if you have the time and are truly interested in the best sound .. take your time and experiment....

Sorry to get defensive; my buttons got pushed. It irritates me to no end when people who don't know better have a strong opinion and I apologize. I used to spend all my time on www.audioasylum.com until I bought my FD; now I spend it here. Lots of great knowledgable guys over there; some of them manufacturers. I don't think I have posted in the past year at all

There are a bunch of you who said you were interesteed that I do not have address info for. Please email me directly at bottorff25@aol.com with your address and woofer cutout diameter (if you don't know your hole size you will get a 6" hole you will need to open up with a jigsaw).
If I have not emailed you a total with shipping, then I don't have you on the finalized list. Thanks everybody.

I was lucky enough to get one of these enclosures when damon made them. It worked really nice. I am not an audiophile, but it was clean and easy, and it fit and sounded good.
Here are some pics of it installed in my (old) car.
Good luck getting one.

BTW, that's a $100 fine for resurrecting a 2-year dead thread, Xeros. Sorry, but rules are rules.

Hey damonB - audio asylum, huh. I work at PS Audio.
Thought you might recognize the company as Paul McGowan is a very active member of the fourm.
Let me know if you need anything for your other "fix" I'll take care of you.

Ha!
I have been bugging him about that for almost a year.
If we can find someone that has one of his box that would be willing to give us the correct dimensions then we are halfway there.............

If I do anything in the near future I am going to build one of Pass's amp designs or a hybrid tube amp.
