Y-pipe and Sec. turbo inlet pipe gasket pics.... Do they look ok?
When I removed my y-pipe and sec. turbo inlet pipe the gaskets stayed on my portions of the gasket. I used a dull razor blade to lift the gaskets off and it worked pretty well. They look pretty flat to me, but considering all the boost/vacuum leaks people have due to intake, y-pipe, TB gaskets, etc. I just wanted to get a sec. opinion on how good they look and see if I can re-use them. They're metal, so if they're flat, shouldn't they be re-usable?
Here are the pics with diff. angles.
Thanks in advance.

Typically metal gaskets are reusable as long as they're not bent. Make sure all the surfaces are clean when you reassemble the piping. One thing that I'm going to try the next time I have to deal with any of the metal gaskets in my car is to put a thin layer of molybendium (sp?) grease on both sides of the gaskets to make them seal better. Obviously this won't work well on the downpipe or exhaust manifold gaskets but I saw this procedure mentioned in a TSB on bolting the LIM back on the block and I think it might help.

I use a rule of thumb I read on here: metal intake gaskets are coated, as long as the coating is good, it should seal well. The metal gaskets do have a pressed ridge in them - technically the seal is best only the first time it's used, but I don't think it's much of a deal to reuse them.
Metal exhaust gaskets need to be cleaned before reuse - a scotchbrite pad works well for that.

Sorry guys I'm still clueless with this "" thing. I subscribed to webshots.com, uploaded the pic, got its properties, copy and pasted the url to here, and it doesnt show for anyone that doesnt have that webshots window open . Well They seem pretty flat to me, so I'll re-use them. I plan to use fine steel wool to clean them up. Thanks everyone and sorry for any inconvenience in not seeing the pics.
