Nothing says I can't get laid more than a Porsche, so no.

Besides it's a reworked boxster, a Porsche lite. Besides it's 15K more than a vette which which is better in most areas on the track and within 10k of the Z06 which would kill it at the track.

Price is not a factor while being realistic?

TT supra, C5 z06, viper gts and the gts is gonna come true too. And i think i dont have to trade the fd for it too.

What kind of question is that unless it's rooted in reality? Of course I'd trade my FD in for another that's double its value. If I was so FD gungho, I'd just turn around and sell the Cayman, and then get another FD. Or two. Or more mods. Or 20B. Or, you get the picture.

*edit - n/m, I understand what you mean. For most people, there will always be another car they want more. There was a time that I thought I'd never sell the FD, but frankly, if I could afford a C6 Z06, AMG SL, or a number of other cars, the FD would be gone in a heart beat. Priorities change.

I'd spend another 10k and get a used low mileage GT3.

I will admit that it's the most exciting sports car I've seen in a few years.

Thats what im saying, the question is too vague, there has to be more limits.

Assuming you don't mean an even trade...for a Porsche, no.
I'm firmly rooted in a financial reality and have kids to get through college.
Still, though I love this car, it depends on how things shake out over the next year or two. I could see the possiblity of a trade-in on a late model C5 ZO6.

Agreed. It seems that whenever there is a comparison on these boards all that is talked about is performance. What about the interior? maintenance? styling? resale value?

Buying a car is not a one dimensional comparison. Glad I'm not the only one that realizes that.

of course i would.

my FD may be faster in a straight line, but that's probably the only thing that it's got going for it - well and the appearance... but the cayman is still a great looking car.

+1 for this comment.

I'm with him.

I'd rather own a fkin' awesome FD that spanks all these expensive newer cars, while still retaining the gorgeous look of an FD, and the power to back it up.

But like someone else said...I WOULD trade it for the Cayman...only to buy another FD and go 3-rotor.

Har har har.

Sh*t, if/after I sell my FD, I'm gonna get another Turbo II and rock the world once again with that oh-so-great late 80's body-styling and turbo-charged rotary goodness.

Yeah.

IIRC, back in the 80s when they were new, this same argument was made for the 924 over the FB RX7. Because the FB (and the 240Z/260Z) beat them in nearly every category and cost much less, even the car magazines of the day had to conclude that you bought the Porsche to impress you neighbors.

I'm with you on these fixable headaches, but still, would this be true of a 12 or 13 year old Porsche?
