Would anyone show me around Cape Coral/Ft. Myers, Florida?
I don't think everyone residing in Florida looks in the Florida forum, so I thought I ought to post this here, too.
I am visiting my parents in Cape Coral, FL starting next weekend. I get there on Saturday the 22nd and I'm there until January 12th. Anyone in the area that would be willing to show me the area, some street racing, etc? Thanks.

There are quite a few 1st and 2nd gen owners, and a few third gen owners in the area. Most of the third gens are a bit south in Naples (including me). I'd stay away from the street racing scene as most who run aren't very intelligent about it and someone was killed in Ft. Myers (older, non-regular and not associated with the "regular" street racers) two weeks ago so there's been a big crackdown on it. I've not attended since July. Just not worth it. There are a number of rotary guys who hit the strip out at Immokalee raceway (30 min. east in the middle of BFE) on Friday night (grudge racing, open tree). If you cruise down Cleveland Ave (US 41) on Friday/Saturday, you'll see various spots. One is the huge parkinglot near the Belltower shopping center (Saturday night). It's located on the south side of the shopping center/mall across the street. Not sure what the cross street is, but it's the southeast corner. It's a Beals or some big store. FYI, the guy who organizes the illegal drag racing scene is a first gen owner, single turbo. My car "may" be out of the shop by then, but no guarantees. I screwed it up pretty severely, or well, the tree did.

Hey Michel, This is Bryan Mahin from Jax. I had heard about your miss hap. How is that coming along? I finally put mine in the shop after the long wait from when it got hit before MADS. Oh well, I should have her back tomorrow or thursday.

It's coming along...Joe from Punta Gorda was just down (bought my old Carbon Fiber hood) and we went over to the shop to see it and pick up the hood. It's on the frame machine at the moment. A new set of Volk SE37A's is sitting in the corner along with 99-spec lights, M2 trailing arms and toe links, GTC front end/side skirts, Knightsports carbon fiber hood, Widefoot swaybar mounts, ST sway bars and a host of other parts waiting to go on. The car should be good as new when completed and extremely improved in a few key areas noteably cooling, handling and braking. No power parts, sigh...the engine was fully intact thanks to a Cusco strut tower bar. Actually the GReddy elbow cracked. Everything else was fine. Good enough reason for me to upgrade to a strong front strut tower bar! Without it, the car would have been totalled.I've attached a pic of the car on the frame machine. Not for those with a weak stomach. It's hard to tell what's damaged. The entire subframe is being replaced along with the driver's suspension. They've removed the driver's front 1/4 panel, hood and nose. Crap. For some reason I can't upload a picture. Keeps on telling me it's not the right file type even though it is a jpg. Must be Microsoft/Mac incompatibility issues. Damn that Bill Gates!
