The Corvette Rocks. The RX-7 Rocks. I will combine both.... if I ever finish
Don't you mean if I ever bother to finish?

BTW, I owned a 2002 Z06. I'm not turning my car into a "Corvette" because I can't afford one. I'm turning my car into a "Corvette" because that's the way it should have been built in the first place.

I also heard that respect for another individual should not be contingent upon any "contribution" made to others, or to society. Especially, given that one cannot possibly know what "contirbutions" a person may have made, it is better and wiser to allow benefit of the doubt and simply treat every fellow human with respect.

There are obviously different upbringings and different schools, but that is what mine taught.

umm...wasnt this thread about 20Bs and motors and stuff?
Anyway. There are different kinds of respect, but the important kind has to be earned. I had a teacher once that thought i should treat him with utmost respect just because he was a teacher and i a pupil. it doesnt work that way. You have to give someone reason to repect you, otherwise the respect doesnt mean anything.

Now...lets talk about cars.

Great. So is that your excuse for why you should be allowed to post some stupid **** about Corvette owners and ***** size without being harassed for the lack of intelligence statements of that type exhibit?

Fine. Now, shut the **** up unless you have something valuable to add to this discussion.

That logic won't stop with a 911 or an M3 either. If you want to get down to it, the point stands that there will always a 'better' vehicle in some category of performance out there...but for most members of this site, they favor the RX-7, and the tri-rotor setup so happens to be a favorable/exotic modification to the car. Hot rodding doesn't have to be practical, as the end result becomes its own reward.

Completely agree with you! We all do what we want to do.. either being putting on some crazy $11k body kit or $10k stereo system.. we all do things to our car because some reason, it make sense..

Since you asked... Perhaps I should have added some icon to signify humour. My lighthearted reference to the folklore story was purely tongue-in-cheek and certainly not intended to insult anyone's sensitivities. However, on a serious note there is a significant body of research related to the topic in the psychological literature. One premise is that male acquisition of fast cars, powerboats, etc. is a coping mechanism to offset insecurities or "shortcomings" of some nature. Such shortcoming could be a physical trait, either real or imagined. Now obviously the buyers of a Corvette or other car are motivated by any number of possible reasons, so a generalization is wildly inaccurate. I would have thought you had the intelligence to realise that, but perhaps at times I give too much respect and credit to people. I therefore apologise to the Corvette owners who were unable to see the humour or were offended.

Now, perhaps you could explain how harrassment contributes anything valuable to the discussion? Or for that matter, why should anyone be allowed to post such harrassment, intimidation, rudeness, and cursing? It seems we not only went to different schools, but read different rules of forum etiquette.

The proper response was "Gee, I'm sorry I made a dumbass comment. It will never happen again." Then you shut up. Go practice by yourself.

Louis, compare numbers

M3(35k) + turbo/supercharger(10k EASY) + Install(another 5 at a bmw shop) + engine upgrade to handle the forced induction, yes you do need it(5-10k)

Now the Rx7(6500-9000) + 20B and single turbo and installation(35k)

I think thats done. Not to mention the fact that the suspension and brakes on an FD is much better than that of the m3, therefore you may as well replace an FD. And the 911 turbo will come no where NEAR that of the 20B rx7. Now it may handle better, but power wise no where close. Drop in another 20k in suspension for the 7 and you'll be FAR better than that of the 911Turbo

A Supra is in no way compareable to a minvan....all though it is heavier car it's still capable of putting anything behind it.
