Why don’t we have a Big FD Drag Racing Community like other Car Forums?

First off, I respect anyone who can build a 500hp rotary and get it to launch well, and I admit that drifting at the competition level takes more skill than I have.
That said, I try to avoid both the drag racing and drifting communities, because there are so many fanboys. However, I want those guys to have their own separate forums. I'll admit that my motivation is purely selfish: if I don't want to read their banter, all I've got to do is avoid their subsections.
+1 for the Drag subsection of the Motorsports forum, if a Drift subforum is created also.

i read through a few pages but not the whole thing, so if what i say has already been said/covered, my apologies ...
the only real reason i have heard thus far for a seperate drag racing forum is because there isn't enough information on the subject, i dont see how creating another forum will entice "serious" drag racers into coming forth with more information, since if they were really that serious about drag racing and relaying the information to others the information would have already been here, the fact that it ISN'T already here (which is the message i'm getting) just goes to show the true lack of interest you seem to be trying to convince everyone is here... secondly, i dont really see how a seperate sub-forum will really be that great, anyone interested in drag racing SHOULD direct any drag racing questions to people IN the racing sub forum, if they dont it is not the cause of the racing forum, it is the cause of stupid people not putting their posts in the right place, which would probably continue to happen even with a dedicated forum, which would still not solve the problem...
basically i dont understand what you think will really be much better about a dedicated drag racing forum as opposed to a dedicated 'racing' forum, ya it might be a little less cluttered, but at the same time when you start adding a ton of different forums the main page gets cluttered, and then comes the issue of where do you draw the line? i'm not really that opposed to having seperate racing forums and it wouldn't bother me either way, i guess i just dont see the point...

If you want drag and/or drift people to post in the racing forum, you might want to change the description to be something other than "Discuss anything related to road racing and auto X."
Having said that, there is already a racing sub-forum for "Race Techniques" which has a total of 7 threads in the last year. There is also a vendor sub-forum for autodoodads.com which has 4 posts in the last year. I have no idea what autodoodads.com is or why it is important enough to have its own vendor sub-forum so I don't mean to single them out or put them down, I'm just pointing out that not every forum on this board receives huge traffic.
Given the popularity of drag and drift, I don't see what it would hurt to create new sub-forums. At least it will keep them from driving away the road racers in the main racing forum.

Why not just rename race techniques to "Drag Racing", and add one new one for "Drifting" to keep everybody happy.

As much as I'd like this to happen, I think you might be going about things the wrong way.
Recently, a Megasquirt EFI subsection was added to the Engine Management forums. Before that happened, there were probably 10 posts per month in the Engine Management forums, by different posters, all relating to the Megasquirt system. Eventually, all the threads ended in "things would be so much better if there were a Megasquirt subforum." I don't think anyone created a separate thread asking for a subforum.
It's possible that I haven't been looking, but I don't see very many drag-related posts, so why would the admins feel the need to give you your own forum? Vendors pay fees for their own forums, that's why their nearly-empty forums are still around. I think that if you can post links to 10 drag-related posts from the past month, you might have an argument here.
Does anyone remember the 3rd Gen Advanced Tech forum? It was created in reponse to people requesting it, then it wasn't used enough, and eventually it got the axe.
