why are auto FD's rev limited??
Just wondering why this is. I Noticed at 7k rpm i get a buzzer and the car just doesnt want to go anywhere. I can feel that it can keep going but the computer just won't let it. It's set as the auto's redline on the gauge where as the manuals go to 7.5-8 IIRC. Is there a way I can change that?
I am in no position to get a manual so this option is out.

Constant threat
Probably just a function to keep the torque converter from freaking out due to...some damned black-magic ******* thing they do.
I have found it is not hard to go over 7K, if you are boosting hard and accelerating fast, especially if you are using the 'hold' feature, I can easily get 7400, sometimes 7600 rpm. Yeah, it starts beeping at me at 7000 but I sometimes ignore it...lol!

Off topic here but I've always been curious as to how well auto fd's handle engine mods. Being a 2nd gen auto owner i've always been told the auto won't handle much more than stock hp/torque. But I do know many auto fd's are modded.
