Anyone? Trying to see if it will actually handle big torque.

Eric...you might want to check the Supra forum, there are a lot of members who were disappointed with outcome from Level 10

As for FDs, I don't think anyone used them on this board. However, I might be wrong.

I believe Weaklink and Teamfx are the only ones on here to use upgraded auto trannies. Weaklink is now manual and Teamfx sold his car (which got totalled).

I heard good things about them in the FWD SR20DET world years back.

Weaklink changed back to a manual? That's not a good sign.......

Here's a post by him:

Do a search under my name and you can read the whole sordid details of my misadventures with the auto. I will say this, my auto ran fine behind a single turbo setup for 5K+ miles with not a hiccup. It was still not quick enough from a stop for my liking, so I decided to swap. BUT, I wish that I had swapped the rear to a 4.10 before I went all the way. You have to do it anyway, so it's not a waste. Like I said, things may have turned out different....

Apparently, Chuck from RotaryExtreme also used to run a Level10 auto tranny with a built motor for a long time as well.

Surely someone can find more of Weaklink's posts? I seem to recall a lot of them regarding Level 10 stuff. Maybe this was pre-hack(?)
Anyways, what I seem to remember is that the pricing for Level 10 stuff is un-holy....like $2K for basic upgrades? Or maybe that was just the upgraded torque converter....? It was high, it seems. But I think it made the tranny good for ~400 hp.

doing an auto trans upgrade is my next project. I've called aroung and have been told a 400 HP auto trans can be built for our cars without any problem. not cheep around $1,700.00 with a custom torque converter.

I got a pm from lupe. I don't think he is looking for a streetable transmission. From what I've seen, his car looks like an all out drag racer. I think he should go with a th350 like marcus aka turbostreetfighter (long since gone from the scene I think). Anyone who wants my "level ten" tranny and torque converter can have them for $500 both if they come pick them up (shreveport, LA) and pay cash. They're just taking up valuable space in my garage.

For full disclosure my tranny was rebuilt locally with a rebuild kit from level ten. It does not have the valve body upgrade. The level ten torque converter is not a modified stock TC and has a stall of 3500 according to level ten. I think I had around 6-12K miles on the tranny when I swapped. It had 52,xxx then and has 64,xxx now, but I don't know how many I've put on it since the swap-best guess 2-5K miles. I had no problems with the tranny behind an rx6 single turbo.

PM me for questions. or comments.

A customer of mine had a level 10 trans built for his mildly modded 93. Now, none of this is my firsthand knowledge, only what he told me directly, but he has no reason to lie to me. Apparently he paid them $4700 for a modified (or full replacement?) stall plus the trans build and shipping. IT apparently lasted him about 10 pulls at the strip (he was probably making 300-350 at the wheels at the time) and failed (not sure what mode of failure). He had a shop local to him go back through it and they claim to have found some things they were not happy with. The trans worked properly for several months after they went back through it (not sure what had to be done) until he swapped to 5sp.

Well, I was under the impression that their "race transmissions" would hold 1,000 hp. I read that somewhere but not sure where. I guess I way was wrong.

Thanks for the help, I'll probably go with a C4 or TH350 w/Brake.

An adapter plate shoudn't be hard to make.

Built C4 = $350-$400
Custom 6500 converter = $650
Brake = $250
Adapter = $30-$40
Driveshaft modification = $60-$75

I had concerns about their workmanship as well, plus issues with turn around time as it took quite a while for them to get my torque converter to me. That's why I had the tranny rebuilt locally so that I could drop by and call to check on things. However the parts are raybestos and the like so.... I've had NO issues with the tranny behind my rx6 single turbo making around 360.
