Garfinkle makes them .he uses rubber shock mounts on the ends of the connecting rod to eliminate vibration . he is working on a transmittion to uim mount so the push pulling on the uim will not effect the manifolds mounting - sealing . all the movement may work badly on the manifolds if the bushings-motor mounts are worn. Think about it.

instructions?

you'll need a wrench set & that pic that KZ1 just put up...

on the right hand side of the brace in the pic, you can see where it mounts - in that location, there's normally an engine hoist mount. Use your wrench to remove that mount, then use the same screws to attach the supplied torque brace mount. Don't forget to reattach the ground strap when you're putting it back together.

Then attach the other mount to the pre-drilled, pre-tapped holes in the fender - make sure the rubber goes inbetween the mount and the fender - you will have to drill holes in the rubber.

There should be enough slack to screw the brace all the way in on one side, then unscrew it from that side into the other side (the threads are reversed). - then tighted the bar down on either side with the bolts that are already on the mounts.

ps - mine still vibrates like hell... and I still haven't gotten around to ordering the feed brace.

yeah, usually you load the driver's side mount a bit. This may not work if mount is broken however, in which case you may find it better ot load passenger's side.

More importantly than that, just make sure the rod-ends are complety neutral between washers on UIM bracket. If there is rattling, it is usually the rod end against washer.

Mounted right, the rx-7 store brace rattles same as the Feed(shock type), I have both, the rattling sound does not come from the solid brace, rather the rod ends hitting the mounts. No it will always add some vibrations of course, but it shouldn't rattle.

I don't know why some guys said they have had vibrating probs, maybe there engien is shot, and is lumpy therfore the addition of brace makes it worse.??? no idea prolly becuase the rod-ends though. Broken engine mounts coudl do it too I guess, nto really sure on that one as mine are good.

you will feel more of the engine and resonance, but I gaurantee it is less than an exhaust system adds.

I made a one from two very long "eye-bolts"(8" & 10"), some various nuts and washers, a 2" connector hex nut and an "L" bracket ALL from Home depot. Yes, I know it's not cool looking...it's down right ghetto! But it works and it cost less that 20.00 bucks!

I wish I had a better pic for ya but I am having trouble getting my pics out of my digital camera(I actually have a couple guys waiting for pics of an IC for sale.)

It works great! It completly stops the engine from twisting/torquing to the right. The driveline feels much more "connected".

The only thing that "bugs" me is the vibration in the cockpit while idling.

Try it out! It's only twenty bucks and there is absolutley no cutting or drilling involved... If you don't like it. Toss it.

I originally thought I was going to just use this one as a temporary TB until I could gather all the "cool" looking parts like the professional looking rod ends, etc. But I couldn't find them anywhere. Why bother. My car isn't ever going to be nice enoght to be in a show or anything...
