Where to buy RB catback

I think I'm going to bite the bullet and get a RB catback. It seems like everywhere I look it's $580. I'd rather buy outside of TX to avoid paying sales tax. Does anybody know of a reputable store that has a competitive price?

its in TX but Rotary Performance had the best buy a few years ago. They also had great customer service. The cat back was damaged in shipping - both tips where damaged. They sent me a new one out right away before asking for the old one back. Not many companies will do that these days.

Here's what I'd do:

Take the price RP wants for the exhaust, and multiply it times 1.0825 to get your final price with tax.

Call Racing Beat. Ask them how much it cost to ship the exhaust to you. Add the shipping fee's along with the price RB wants for the exhaust. Then you can compare.

However, I see you live in San Antonio. RP will have to ship you the exhaust; so add shipping fees on top of the sales tax.

FYI: I bought my RB exhaust in person at Rotary Performance. The listed price of $515 may be incorrect now... I could be wrong, but I believe my bill was over $600.

Good luck.

I love Rotary Performance. Rotary Performance used to list it at $515 but it's gone up. With tax and shipping it's around $653. Tax is the real hang-up for me.

Racing Beat lists it at $580 as does Mazdatrix.

I figure I should buy it before they stop manufacturing it or it surpasses $600 before tax and shipping.

Do you have to buy it new? They pop-up constantly for sale on here and usually sell for less than most other exhausts.

If I found a mint or very very clean used on than I'd probably pick it up. It depends on how close it is to the cost of new.

With the plethora of fireballs that come out of modified rotaries my preference is to buy new when it comes to exhausts.

I bought mine from the Rx7 store. Currently it's listed at $560

It does seem like there are a few RB's for sale huh? I'm almost ready to trade in my PFS cat-back for the quieter dual tip RB as well. It is true that it's a quieter exhaust right? The PFS is nice and throaty and I will probably miss it....but it's about time to go more low-pro. The FD just got a fresh coat of paint and make-over so the exhaust no longer has to make up for its inadequacies, shall we say.

I didn't even consider shopping around since racingbeat.com is in house and direct from the supplier. It'll be bad business for them if someone they are supplying is undercutting their prices....but there it is...$580 direct vs. $560 on rx7store vs. $515 on Rotary Performance, before shipping. Interesting.

But you're right Adamrs80, instead of its advertised price of $515 on RP, it's at $579 in the cart. So that leads me back to..... racing beat direct. And they're in Cali so no tax for you!

Make sure you have the stock hanger or this RB stainless piece. Or you'd be stuck like me waiting for it in order to install the RB muffler.

Should I be concerned about this? Can the muffler be ruined that easily?
