I'm not sure what you are looking for so I'm not sure if these pics will help.

I thought about it and then I talked to a buddy of mine (an engineer). He mentioned that it's not really worth the effort (unless the elbow already had a compatible flange) as there is little, if anything, to gain from it. He went through a whole novel about it but that's the jist of it.

why did you decide to keep the A/C?

also, I might need to get new radiator lines and was wondering how you had hooked those up. I bought the same radiator off that website about a year and a half ago.

It will be behind the oil cooler at the 120 degree angle.

Regardless of whether the Pettit was the cause or not - I would highly consider switching over to a PFC at this point, though.

edit: yay to replying to a 1 year old post.

What's been happening? Too much real work...

I got the oil cooler install completed and the car full of fluids. However, I ended up having some fuel problems. The first was easy to spot (a 3 ft fuel geyser) and easy to fix: I managed to install the fuel system without the o-ring on the FPR. I had assembled the fuel system as probably the very first thing way back before my irons were even back from being ported.

After that, I still had fuel leaking, but not very visibly. So I pulled the fuel system to inspect it. Everything seemed fine. I got some $4 fuel hose from AutoZone, lengthened the lines to the FPR and from the FPD so the rails were visible (as the pictures show). The leak ended up being the o-rings on one of the secondary injectors. I used the o-rings provided by RC Engineering and one was just stretched a little too much apparently. I had a complete OEM o-ring set so that injector was fixed, the fuel pressure test started again, and all clear.

I have work to do for my day job so putting everything back so it can start will have to wait for another day (most likely this coming Tuesday).

I'm intresteded in the way you set up your oilcooler, you have any pics of that.
Also I noticed that you didn't place the heat shield on your turbo did you forget or you decided not to run it.
BTW very nice car.

Did you ever do the oil pan studs and brace?

I have some pics and I'll PM them to you later today. Even though DamonB would scream, I didn't mount the oil cooler connections on the bottom. Weighing the differences, I'd much rather not completely drain the oil out of the system verses having the connections hang a little too low and possibly get damaged. My car will be driven on a street a little bit and we do have crater size potholes here.

I left if off on purpose.

Yes, the setup is:

* oil pan baffle plate
* oil pan brace
* Moroso oil pan studs

The studs were a little too long to get all that stuff on there (when you are manuvering around the oil pickup line) so I ended up cutting off about 1/4" off each one. Other than that, it was really nice not having to worry about lining up the bolt holes with the pan sealant ready to go.

And a little short video:

http://mahjik.homestead.com/files/hosting/DSCF0942.zip

It's idling a little rough as I have a few wiring problems to sort out (one of those being the water thermosensor). Unfortunately, I think I might have a pinched coolant o-ring. I do have a coolant line leaking that I'll be taking care of as well as the wiring/sensor issue.

I'll post up more info as I find out more.

This was basically the first one of my own. I had helped on a few others, but just mainly on the assembly part. I had never done all the cleaning, measurements and everything else that needs to be done until this one.

I saw some fluid out of the exhaust (I have an exhaust leak so it was dropping a little early out of the exhaust line). It seemed like water/coolant mixture but it may not have been. I should know some more the second time I start it as it should have kicked out most if not all of the assembly lube and excess fuel (from my original fuel leak) from the first start.

Even with the water thermosensor problem, I was just happy that it idled on it's own. Later after I stopped the camera, the idle actually began to settle down and stop surging.

I'm still a few demons away, but I should know some more in a few days.

Which noise are you hearing? The idle surging or something else?

In the video it sounds like its chugging, but that could just be the vid quallity.

Congrats on getting it running though, it probably feels good to hear it, in any state, after all these months.

It is. If you read above, I mentioned that the car has some codes which is giving it the rough idle (the water thermosensor).

Great news, I'm hoping to fire mine up on Monday, it hasn't been rebuilt but the turbos have been off, the rats nest redone, new check valves, braided fuel lines, new gaskets etc. Fingers crossed I've got it all right and won't have any issues.

I've just got to find a way of pressurising the fuel system to check for leaks before I fire her up, I'm assuming I can with the diagnostics some how... hopefully.

Anyway congrats, how much power are you hoping to make?

I really don't want to know. I totalled everything I had spent (engine and non-engine items) up a while back an it was around $8k. I have bought things since, smaller items but they all add up after a while. And I still have a little more to purchase once I get the wiring bugs and leaks worked out.

Yep. Just use the GND and FP ports on the diagnostics box.

It won't be much. I would expect around 350rwhp at 15 PSI (max of the ECU).
