I heard that the best to run is the Cosmo 20B pump. You can get it from Pettit.

The pump that Pettit sells is the same that is mounted on the Supra TT (I specifically asked them), so I guess the Supra and the Cosmo have the same pump. I chose the Supra TT pump since the Supra guys squeeze 550 rwhp out of it. That's more than enough for me. The specs were something like 69gph @ 50psi with 12v. I think it's worth the extra money. ($270 to be exact). Toyota part number is 23221-46110. Another bonus is that it's a "perfect" drop in which takes about 20min to install. Plus it is as quiet as the original. I've never heard it once.

For a bolt in pump, use the stock Denso TT Supra pump or a Dodge Viper Pump. The Cosmo and Supra pump are not the same, infact the Supra pump flows more at less voltage. If your a real DIY person just buy the Walbro pump, its not drop in, but it is cheaper and flows really good.

I hear that the walbro pump has some reliability issues. It is also smaller than stock! Just get the ND supra pump ... I mean how often do you hear of a supra blowing up because the pump died!

The Bosch 993TT fuel pump is very nice but kind of expensive. It also requires a somewhat elaborate rig in order to fit right.

How About the Rotory Performance one...? I think it's a Nipondensio.

They say it will not make it run rich at idle with upgraded ECU's......

Can anyone confirm this? And is it a decent pump as well?

the RP, Nippondenso, and Supra pump are all the same thing. all exact drop ins, and all could support upwards of 500 RWHP on an FD.

best way to go, IMO.

check the website I posted. It lists the flow rate of both the supra, skyline, cosmo, walboro etc etc.

the skyline pump flows more than the supra pump but it is louder.
very slight modification is required for the Skyline pump.

The A'PEXi pumps are monsters. Huge flow, but you can't run more than 75 psi fuel pressure (which isn't a problem unless you plan to run huge boost, like 30+ psi) and it is loud. I had mine flow tested at RC:
http://www.maxcooper.com/rx7/parts_i...exi_bnr32.html

If other people have sent their pumps for testing, it would be great to see some other flow results. Please post if you've got 'em.

The ND pump is easy to install. Takes like 1/2 hour to drop it in to your tank.

Damnit changed my fuel filter and now the car runs rich again.

The HP walbro pump works well but it's also LOUD and annoying.

do any of you upgrading to the supra pump find your overflowing the stock FPR? do you find it can't return enough fuel in off boost conditions?

Stay way from the Walbro. I was at Rotary Performance a while back, and mentioned that I had ordered one. One of their employees (Bill) related a story of a friend w/a high-hp Mustang that had three (three!) of the walbro pumps fail on him at highway speeds. Then I got it in the mail, and found that it's quite a bit smaller than stock. I installed it anyway, but recently Dave at KDR had my R1 and he's of the opinion that they're inferior; he told me that a few have failed on him.

I had Dave install an OEM Supra TT fuek pump, which he said was the largest in-tank that will fit in the stock location. I don't know about you, but a fuel pump is the last area I would try to save money when buying parts for my heavily modded (and temperamental ) FD...

What ECU do you have? I have the Pettit... will changing to the RP fuel
pump make my car rich as well? Is it only rich at idle or thoughout the rpm range?

And what mods have you done as well? Thanks for the info.... jc

Nah i was kinda a dumb *** and didn't get fuel filter changed before going on the dyno. So changing the fuel filter has affected the way my car now runs. Should have changed it again earlier stupid stupid.

Right now I'm usign a PFC. It will affect your car in some way. Not a big fan or pre tuned ECU though I did run one back in the day when there were no other options.
