What would happen if you mount your AVC-R to metal??
Wondering if there is any negative effect by mounting your AVCR to hard metal surface?? I know the direction says you need to mount it with small rubber pad.. I don't know why.. and also maybe this is leading to my boost issue?? I'm only hitting 7lbs (PFC=0.5 to 0.55) on both turbos.. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated..
FYI - Looks like my solenoid kind of works.. and I've checked my electrical lines at least 5 times..

i think they are just trying to make sure you aren't continuously rattling the electronics. remember the stuff is just held on by tiny solder points inside. just 2 cents

If you only control the boost with the actuator spring you get 7 lbs boost . I will guess that the electric unit is not working .On Pauls the pfc was not controling the unit .He is now using Gars . Get someones pfc and AVCR to try out .

I do have a manual Greddy boost controller.. but need one more for the secondary..

It is the solenoid that mounts on the rubber. Presumably to reduce the chance of damage from shock, but maybe also (or even primarily) too keep it from making a lot of noise. Why would you not mount it on the rubber?
Make sure you have it connected right. For an external wastegate, you connect boost pressure to the NC port, the COM port to the top of the wastegate, and leave NO vented to atmosphere. You also need a manifold boost pressure signal to the side of the wastegate. It is way easier to troubleshoot if you really understand how the wastegate and boost controller work -- worth learning if you don't already know.
Make sure to mount the AVC-R's MAP sensor somewhere that isn't too hot.

Like everyone else said you are using your stock spring to control your boost. Something isn't hooked up right. Also if you don't disconnect your stock boost control stuff you won't be able to control boost with the avcr. thats what happened to me when i paid someone else to hook mine up. Now, if I just unhook one of the vac lines and plug it I get 7 lbs as well.

Widebody2, I do have the stock controller solenoids off. But I'm slightly confused to which vac line you are talking about?? Can you describe to me in detail to which line.
