Question What is this and where does it go?

Probably a pretty easy question for most of you guys. Im still on the quest to get my car in good working order and I have a bit of compressor surge and didnt know if this could have something, if not everything to do with it.

To my knowledge there has never been a vacuum line there, but where would it go if there was one?

Here is the diagram.

Hard to tell from the picture but it may be one of the solenoid actuators at the front of the turbos. It looks like it is the lower one and would connect to a fitting up near where your red vacuum lines are, but I cannot see an empty nipple in that area in the picture. Check ther and let us know. It is where you usually install the actuator for an aftermarket boost controller. You may have a picture of the aftermarket actuator, in fact. Does the car have an aftermarket boost controller?

Also if your having a surge problem then it means your blow-off valve is not functioning properly or if your still stock the bypass air control valve. Check your hosing in those areas as well.

I think it's this one that goes to your top pressure chamber.

edit: to find out check the top black plastic Pressure chamber make sure there are 2 vacuum hoses hooked up to it.

The red one on the far right goes off under the intake. AIR has been deleted from this car, would that render this EGR system useless?

It does not have an aftermarket boost control. To my knowledge this was left empty on purpose.

yay Karak

the EGR has nothing to do with boost control, the hose in the pic is the short yellow one on the LIM. Just cap it at the valve and at the appropriate nipple on the LIM and you should be fine.

So what is inside the hose then? The broken-off nipple from the back side of the y-pipe?

Problem solved. He has the air pump plumbing out of the car and I was totally disoriented.
