What size socket do I need to take off the rear brake rotors??
What size socket do I need to take off the rear brake rotors?? I measured it and got 1 3/8". I didn't have a MM tape measure. I'm sure it would be MM and I'm going to buy one but those big sockets are expensive and I don't want to get the wrong size. Also, I guess I have to pry open the metal that's bent into the groove on the axel?? My S2000 had a cotter pin but this just has a bent metal piece holding it in place.

Maybe you should clarify what you're trying to do. There's no reason to remove the axle nut if all you're trying to do is remove the rear brake rotor.
You'll need (if I remember correctly) a 17mm socket and/or wrench to remove the bolt which will allow you to open the rear brake caliper(s) and remove the brake pads, and then a 14mm socket and/or wrench to remove the two bolts holding the caliper on the rear spindle/upright. Make sure you don't mix the shims up. At that point, if it's not rusted on, the rear rotor should pretty much fall off by itself. If it's stuck, give it a whack with the handle of a mallet and it should pop loose.
The center nut has nothing to do with the brakes, and should only be removed if you're removing your axles. If that's what you're doing, the you'll need an impact gun, the right size socket (32mm? I'd have to check, it's been awhile) and you'll have to have the brakes on the car to hold the rear calipers with the emergency brake while you use the impact gun to buzz that nut off.
Don't worry about "un-staking" the crimp in the nut. It'll come off no problem with an impact gun. You'll need to replace the nut, however, and they're about $5 ea. from Mazda, if memory serves. After the nut is removed, put something (like a chunk of 2x4) between the axle and the mallet you'll need to drive it out of the hub, and give it a few good whacks. It should pop right out.

All I'm trying to do is replace the rear break rotors. I did the fronts with no problem. They just had the big phillips head holding them on. I got the calipers off the rears and couldn't figure out how to get the rotors off. How the heck do you get them off?? Am I just stupid or something??

Assuming the calipers are off, they just pop loose. They may be rusted on, however, so you'll have to give them a couple taps with something. A dead blow hammer with a rubber face would work wonders in this situation.
