What is the QUIETEST High-Flow Cat?
Looking for something that lets me stay emissions legal, but won't rattle my bones or my eardrums like the current one I have.
Anyone know what the quietest high flow cat is?

Considered also putting in a resonator? My single setup being catless with fujitsubo cbe was pretty loud with annoying rasp; in fact I was too embarrassed to drive the thing. I've tried 2 resonators which the first was a glass pack which was a bad idea and worked for about a week of driving; then I bought a Magnaflow oval (SS mesh) "muffler" where the cat should be and I honestly can say it was the best purchase yet and the car sounds perfect.

If you want quiet, you are better off going back to the stock cat to be honest. I don't think there is going to be much difference between the crop of hi-flo's available (Bonez, Magnaflow, etc). There may be little difference, but it not be worth the money to change to one. You'll probably be better off adding in a resonator in your current setup somewhere or just going back to the stock cat.

The Bonez pipe is nice, but they are designed to run with the airpump. Without it, it will prematurely die. If you are retaining the stock airpump than this is a good option.
If not, I recommend utilizing some inline resonators or considering a quiter catback.... Nonetheless, you may have to consider all options in stages to attain your desired Db.

I agree that based on your original post (emissions legal), I see an OEM main cat in your future
You can still make 'good' power with one of those, as long as you're happy with low 300s anyway

Not so in my experience. Have one that's AT LEAST 10 yrs old, and four of them without an AP. Two of those four years I've pre-mixed WITH a working OMP with AI. Still flows great and as of last spring the matrix appeared unaffected.

They are about $2300 from what I have priced.
I have a Pettit stainless high-flow that I've never put on. I keep intending too...just never have. Back in the day, I heard they were pretty quiet...

I have 99 spec DP, OEM Cat, and OEM Muffler. Prior to changing to the RB Dual tip the exhaust reeked and would burn your eyes. After changing to the RB Dual tip the exhaust note was practically the same, just a hint deeper and i noticed a slight bump in power. I want to know with the OEM cat being 20 years old now shouldnt i opt for an aftermarket high flo? I mean a 20 year old cat on a wankle has had to have taken a beating.
I see that the majority of you retain the stock cat so its not obnoxiously loud and to avoid boost creep/spikes. I'm looking for sound.... you think i could get away running straight DP, MP, and RB Dual tip if i have an EBC (Greddy Pro spec B 2) or with that set up i have NO choice but to buy the Power FC.

An EBC will not do anything to help with boost creep. Neither with a PFC. And if you thought the exhaust was nasty with the stock cat, you really won't like it with a mid-pipe. I'd keep a cat of some sort.
