Hi..

I have a 93 Fd with full single turbo kit and now it has a bad idle.

It gets to much fuel when it idles (0,74) and no fuel when I give it more than 3000 rpm.
I can see on the evc that when it has to deliver some power over 0,1 bar it just backfire because of to low fuel.. I really dont know what do look for anymore..??

I have had it to a Mazda dealer and the diagnostic computer say that the TPC is bad (i have replaced it with a new one and it did not help) and the "MOP censor 20" is broken or not installed....???

And now i want to know what the MOP censor 20 is...??
Could it be the thing i need to replace so the engine is running right..???

I have checked all the vacum hoses and the electric system. I replaced the MAP censor and that did not help either..!! I have looked at the ECU and it seems to do the right thing... I have look at the fuel regulator and the fuel pump and it works fine...!!

Please help me because it is driving me crazy....

I dont know what to do now..??

Oh boy.

The MOP is the metering oil pump, it is what supplies oil to the internal moving parts in a rotary engine. If something is wrong with yours, the stock ecu will put the car in "limp home" mode, which sounds like what you describe sort of.

Which brings me to my next point....you should not be running a single turbo on the stock ECU! You need a full standalone ecu like the Apexi PFC to properly run a single turbo.

Thanks for your reply.. I will look into that metering oil pump.

I know i should have a stand alone ecu and that is my next "thing to do"

I have already ordered the HKS PFC F-con pro so it should be okay...

But the strange part is that it has been driven for about 2 ýears with the stock ecu and a MF 2 fuel system with no failure.. And the car has 406 hp with that setup...

Bad choice for an ecu, cancel your order and go with an Apexi PFC or similar. Unless some one local to you is a wizard with the HKS.

Haha.. A friend of mine is the HKS dealer in my country, Denmark and he is the wizard who is going to do the magic with the F-con...

I have now find the thing which is making the engine go crazy.. After reading about the mop 20 i found out that it could only be the metering oil pump or the wiring.

After changing the mop i found out that this was not the problem. It still only has 0.252 k ohm and it should be from 1-2 k ohm in this place of the wiring (page D16 in the manuel)

So I removed the generator to look at the harness from the mop to the wire connection and there was the problem... The wire was rubbed off under the generator so it was making "ground" all the time...

So the first thing to do tomorrow is to make the wire good again...
