The CW should be pretty good I guess, if the ducts ever come in. I know a few people have been waiting over a year . yikes.

I just picked one up anyways, as that I have it in my mind I'm going to have to make my own duct.

The CW is a stock mount, and as such has its set of advantages/disadvantages. One disadvantage is the SMIC can theoritcally heat soak sooner then front mounts. The solution that the person I got it from is to put a puller fan on teh IC. I have vented hood too, with the vents directly over the ic, so that should help a tiny bit too.

FMIC have a generally (and theoritcally) greater pressure drop, but I suppose will cool the intake charge more, all things being equal. People that have them report minimal impact on lag though. Of course, with the core hangin out up front, it is more susceptable to rock/etc damage.

Personally, I do not want to mess with moving the a/c line and radiator, and I'm not out for max power - so the smic is right for me.

Not sure on the ducts, but seems at least three have shipped as part of a trial run or something - so it should not be long.

Again, its a FMIC vs SMIC thing. I'm sure for all out power, the FMIC Apex would be the way to go - but the CW SMIC is fine for my needs. There are plenty of people with SMICs in the 350-400rwhp range.

I think ICs are like any mod - you have to take into consideration your other components and match them up correctly. Just because one is best with a given set of mods does not mean its still the best with differnt components.

I seriously doubt unless you are doing a T-88 single turbo and plan on racing all teh time you will need a FMIC.

Anybody here with better knowledge about core efficiency/etc?

The fan you can get from any performance place, like summitracing.com . You would just get a small radiator fan, maybe 10" or 12" (I don't know, I dont' have mine yet) and wire up a switch to turn it on and off. I'm getting a intake temp gauge so I can watch that, but will look into doing a thermo switch so that the IC fan comes on automatically at certain temp.
