Looks like there was some moisture in the tank. Was the fuel really low?

Apparently so. My friend said he drained a couple of gallons of coffee colored fuel from his tank.

That scares me. My car had been sitting in Japan for something like 6 years untouched before I got it. I've never looked at the pump...

Where's the best place to get a new pump online/anywhere? I might lift mine out and replace it as a precaution...!

Im about to store my fd for about 8 months. Would it be better to leave the tank relatively empty or full?

I see reasons for both..

you want it full, the less air in the tank the better.

Mine sat with quarter of a tank for over 10 years in a container and is minty fresh in-tank. Must have been something up with that one, looks nasty!

rockauto.com has great prices on these. You want Denso P/N 9500155 (with filter sock) or P/N 9510014 (without filter sock).

Just google the pump you want.

I would not purchase ANYTHING from rx7store, especially not if you're international! They messed about A LOT with me, and constantly lied when I was able to contact them, when I ordered from them out of England.

They seem to have supporters in the states, but (in my experiences) they don't care to support international buyers.

I agree, that does not look normal. A pump sitting in pure gasoline for long periods of time should not look that way.
