since when did my car come with a bose stereo system stock???

to my knowledge, the R1s were made as light as possible, even if it meant sacrificing comfort or ride quality

1993 RX7, 2002 SS

1/4 mile goes to the SS by about 3/10th or so, hell i'll give your 4/10ths with an equal driver.

Braking, Rx7 wins
top speed is probably close a 93 rx7 was clocked at 163
slalum , the rx7 wins
skid pad the rx7 kills the SS
Looks...well thats objective but most will say the 7 IMHO.

The ONLY you got to show for 10 years of development is a max of about 4/10 on the 1/4 mile and as others pointed out a 2002 RX7 will rape your SS.

OH yea, and don't bring up modding, I think we proved we have UNIBODY rx7's in the low 8's, im sure the fastest unibody SS is no faster than that.

Ok... how bout this... based on what you've shared - I'd probably still kick your RX7's *** with you driving it 9 out of 10 times!

And - as I've said repeatedly - I'm no race car driver - on the street, strip or anwhere else.

 

not anymore, even with a horrific 2.3 60' I will get a 13.1 to 13.2 and i'm upping the boost now.

But I agree Im not the best at launching my car, my goal is more to get the highest trap speed possible and racing from a roll (Darril aka forcefed7) is saying im turnin into a supra owner. He told me to sell the 7 and buy a damn supra!!!!

You'll have to ask the guy who posted the timeslip on the post you responded to a few minutes ago. It's his car. Whatever brand of speakers they are, they are long, integrated tubes in the back. Obviously made for the car, whether or not they were stock, I don't know. I believe his car does happen to be an R1, too.

I know that the camaro and 5.0 especially were made for drag racing and are better suited for it.

I will NEVER deny that. The one thing that makes your car suck in handling makes it very strong on the 1/4 mile strip, its nasty, ancient, crappy suspension.

 

if the car has a bose stereo system he's got a touring model. not an R1 or R2 model

 

R1's never came with a bose from the factory, nor did they come with a moon roof.

R1's dont even have cruise, lol.

Let me do so now, I staged with my rear tires, out of my 72 runs this year I had 35 fuel cut from tuning, I had 2 times where I launched while in neutral and did a 3.0 R/T cause of that. I broke my diff on the track, and oh.....my favorite of all..I was racing a 99 cobra and when I shifted into 2nd my jvc stereo popped out and hit my shifter causing me to mis 3rd gear.

I STILL raped the cobra.


EDIT: oh yea and I cut the cobra off on the runway pass, not like it mattered as he was so damn slow.

I'm not claiming to be an expert on the various RX-7 models and options. I do know R1Owner's is a 93 RX-7 with a 5-speed. I know it has the speakers I've described - and - a moon roof.

Maybe his sig stands for the YZF1000/R1 he used to have. He's a smart guy - and pretty knowledgable about fast stuff. I wouldn't be too surprised if he came back to tell me he never said his car was an R1.

 

I'd bet money that I could pick a few stretches of road on which my crappy suspension would beat your car, if you were the only driver it could muster.

I'm sure you could say the same...

 

I bet you are wrong. I am a good driver, but I'm not very good at launching my car.

Hell, I could almost beat you in tank.

That would be Bill Harron (Hotwheels). He ran a 13.3 and change (at 105 I believe) at Atco..get this first time at a drag strip and with street tires. His next door neighbor with an 8 second drag car wanted to try so Bill said go ahead..He tached up ..way up and dropped the clutch...boom went the diff....oil all over the track and a tow home.

 

The way you freak out every other time you go down the dragstrip?!? The way you claim to almost never street race?!? The way you've got no more actual road racing experience than me? (none) The way I'm about 10 years older than you and have been driving on some of these roads since my 88 5.0 was new? Actually - I've driven some of these roads a few years before that - in my scary, but quick, 71 Nova with drum brakes. The fidget you are, I prolly coulda' beaten you with it!

Suffice to say, I seriously doubt I'd have to worry about your driving on some of my favorite roads.

Probably never find out (you already told me you'd never stop in my midwester sh**hole, you'd rather stay up there in nice NorCal - here it's great up there right now ) so it's a worthless debate.

Where'd Mr. Automagic go? I'm still waiting to hear where this proof was he kept going on about in the past tense without anyone but himself acknowledging it. Come to think of it his outreach to the entire forum asking who agreed with him met surprisingly with silence as well except some fellow trolls. I can't beleive the volume you guys type, sheesh talk about spam, you must have something more constructive to do don't you?

P.S. So now two other people have posted about running 13.3's, hrmm they must have been at faulty tracks as well, cause the new vettes were running 14's : ) at the time.

 

I forgot to add one thing. Bet I can turn an easy 12 in a bone stock manual 3rd gen with M & H DOT tires on stock rims. I'd bet 12.8's or so if it was running right. : )

i read all 7 pages of this thread and i guess only way we can verify it is if someone (esp. the missil guy) was there at the track and taped it...BUT since it took place 10 years ago and to the best of our knowledge, the time slip is the only record that's left of it, well accept it as a fact, don't harass the guy asking if it makes sense to him or not..just keep it in the back of your head as an instance that took place, and if you don't believe it and think the track equipment was busted then it's up to you. don't think there's need to try to discredit the guy to make others agree with your view.

 

Ummmm... you most certainly did. On your famous, "the Legend of" thread in the anything goes section of LS1.com, which you and I both know was deleted long ago.
