what does everyone use to clean the interior?

time for a little spring cleaning..

i hate armour-all i think it leaves the inside smelly.. greasy and way to shiny making the interior look uhh. i dunno.. fake or something..

any other inside cleaners that make a more natural duller shine like when you first bought the car? i've used meguire's inside cleaner and its a real improvement over armour all... not too shiny and greasy and it smells like new.. any other suggestion? any detailers want to share and "trade secrets" on how to clean the inside? or even brighten the outside?

Typically I use your mom to clean my interior. It's rough, I know, but like, someone's gotta do it

Seriously though, I tend to use water in a spray bottle, and some low lint cloths to clean the interior surfaces. I don't like to put Armor All or anything like that on there cos of the shine that it can impart, and that can be pretty blinding in the sun. Also, I have some doubts about it's ability to "protect" my interior, but that's purely speculation on my part. If it's a tough stain, windex can usually take care of it cos there's ammonia in it.

For the leather on my seats, I use both Mothers Gold Class and Lexol.

I use Mother's Rubber, Vinyl, and Plastic protectant. Non-greasy, not too shiny (does have a bit of a fruity smell that lasts several days). Works pretty well. I hate the Armor-All crap too. It's nasty.

Anyone here have R1 seats? I just got my 93 R1 and the passenger side is sorta nasty and hard, not nice and soft and "seude". Anyone know of a good product or product ingredient that I should look for that would be safe and effective on these seats?

Velour Cleaner, a spray foam cleaner by Turtle Wax, will clean it, but I don't know about making it softer. (It works on carpets too.)

For the leather, I use Klasse.

For the Vinyl, I'm still looking for something that works well.

Not only does that Armor All look bad, it's bad for your vinyl..

i use water most of the time and when i really want the clean new look i use mopars' leather rubber and vinyl protectant. It's not glossy at all but does add a kind of natural shine that doesn't reflect on the glass. I also heard that products like armor-all that give that really glossy greasy look are bad for the car in summer time it causes excess heat in the dash which will cause cracking kind of like using baby oil to tan OUCH.

Cool

I don't see why everyone hates the armorall shine so much. When I first got my car the interior was in decent shape but no where near where it could be.
I've used armor all the first day and you wouldn't believe the amount of dirt that came off the plastic stuff. And I restored the original shine to it. Since then I've been using the high gloss shine. Now everything looks new and very, very shiney. That's the way I like it. I don't like the dull look. Things look much better when you put the armor all stuff on it. I even use it on my 99 spoiler. People have no idea how I make the spoiler look so glossy.

I absolutely hate it when my car gets dirty. I try to keep it as clean as humanly possible without over doing it.

The only thing I don't put any type of "protection" are the tires. I just use my Zymol wash to clean the tires from dirt. And amazingly the tires look like they came off the assembly plant.

It's all in the matter of detail you guys are willing to put into your car.

Later,

I like using Mother's or Meguires.

The worst is definitely Armor All and Black Magic.
