what do the power steering connections do?
One of the connectors on my power steering pump is broken right now. But i really havent noticed a difference in the way it acts. I see there is 2 of them on there, but what do they do? Does one of them turn the pump off at a certain speed or RPM?

Are you talking about the electrical connection?
I believe it is simply a switch input to the ECU telling it when the power steering is loading the engine down so the ECU can bump up idle.

Just checked the shop manual and service highlights - the wire coming from the PS pump is simply a pressure switch. When PS pressures reach a certain point, the switch lets the ECU know so it can compensate for the increased engine load at idle.
The speed sensing part is simply how fast the PS pulley turns. That part is totally mechanical.
Kinda wish we had the FC's power steering system - it was speed based, and decreased assist as vehicle speed increased. But, it was definitely more complicated and probably weighed more .
