what do 850cc's flow at a higer BP?

Has anyone had stock 850cc injectors flow tested at a higher pressure like 48 or 50PSI?

I am running 4x850's and will be running them around 48-50 base pressure. Just want to know what I would input them in the PFC as to keep an accurate injector duty reading.

If you increase the base fuel pressure by 10 psi then your 850cc injectors will flow the equivelant of 1000cc injectors.

I am currently running 4x850's at 50psi base pressure. Before install and tuning mine were cleaned, and flow tested. The tuner that did my work entered 1000cc for injector size on FCedit. I have had zero problems so far. In fact, according to my tuner in England the 850's have a "lovely" spray pattern when the fuel pressure is increased a little bit like that, I wouldn't go much over 50psi for base pressure though.

Cheers,

Levi

ok. so I had all four cleaned with new filters and pintle caps. they all had "excellent'' for the spray and flow rating. but I didn't have them flow tested at a base PSI.

Since mine are freshly cleaned and in great shape, would you say it would be safe to assume they flow 1000cc like yours at 50PSI?

Send them out to get flow tested. Easiest way to run lean is to overstaed the actual flow.

I will sooner run them as 850's and just adjust the map that pull the fuel system apart again.

The formula for figuring out increased flow works like this.

SQRT(New Base pressure/Old base pressure) X old flow= New flow

Example New base pressure = 50 psi
Old base pressure = 40 psi
Old Flow = 850cc

SQRT (50/40) X 850 = 1062cc

This formula can be used for any combination of pressures and flows, and for figuring out nozzle sizes for WI etc.

awesome, thanks.

So I can be a bit conservative and input them as 1000cc's as a bit of a safety buffer, and then tune the AFRs out a bit?

If you tune the afr's it shouldn't matter what you enter. But if you're trying to reduce the amount of tuning required then yeah just use 1000 for 50 psi. Your other injectors will need adjusted too, but i'm guessing you're running 850 x 4. Make sure you have a good fuel pump thats rewired, higher base pressure requires a pump that can keep up.
