Unhappy What the crap is happening with my car?

My wife and I driving a bit and all is OK? We park do some shopping and return to the car...our only car.
At restart, the idle is rough, bouncing of the bottom. I didn't think it was going to stay alive.
It did and after running a bit it settled down, but with very little power.
I turned it off again. After waiting just a few seconds, I restarted the idle was still OK. I shut it down and after lunch when I restarted...it was idling like crap again.
I checked the wire connections at the plugs and they seemed ok. It started storming so I have not done anything else.
Any tests I can do or things to look for?
I'm going to need you guys on this one.

.. it was justa at first it was like shaking and stuff. it has 50k miles and I had a compression test like 3 days ago. and it came back perfect it was fine after it warmed up... I was REALLY low on gas and then I just put some in it. I wonder if that had an affect, i'm so new to this rotary. my exhaust was making funny noises too. it was a really cool night so I'm thinking it might be that.. let me know what you think.
THANKS
ALLEN

You should change your fuel filter every 15,000 miles and never let the fuel fall below 1\4 tank. As far as the funny idle, you should clean out your throttle body. My idle was alot smoother after I cleaned it.

You might need to reset your ecu. That's what I did and it solved a problem similiar to yours.

Or check the Rats nest to make sure you dont have a broken or something came loose off the vaccumm hose.
It has 100,000 miles. I know its a lot, but there are others with much more. The idle is going from 200-800 rpms at start up while running rough, but it did settle out.

This morning (day after the problem started) I started it, warmed it up and drove it with NO PROBLEMS. None detected anyway. I kept thinking to myself, "Is the power down?" It is definitly quicker than when it was acting up, but as quick as before? Don't know.

Since it came back, anything I can rule out or narrow it down to? Maybe a solenoid going bad?

It is possible you had some condensation from your fuel tank or picked up some debris from the bottom. There is a pretty good "sock" on the bottom of the pump that keeps most debris from being picked up in the first place. Fill it with fresh fuel, change the fuel filter, and throw in some S2 or Techron and see if it happens again. I'll bet on the condensation since you said your tank was empty and it was a cool night - perfect ingredients for water production!
Also, even a small vaccuum leak in any one of your hoses can cause all kinds of hell........Good luck!

I knew this would happen. You are getting the post from 93REX confused with my original thread. When I was driving, it was hotter than 2 horny rats f***ing in a wool sock.
I don't mean to offend anyone, but when I start a thread I get annoyed when it gets misdirected by another post.
Maybe I am just frustrated over the car. Sorry.

Settle down Beavis...I never said that because my car never ran hot...the weather was hot.

I don't have a problem with you or your post. As I have implied before, it is simply frustrating to have information get crossed and jumbled in the middle of a problem. So let me kick your *** and lets make up. Hehehe....

I am pulling this out of the past to say what was wrong. The insulation on wiring harness had rubbed through were the harness snakes thru the fender well. It was shorting out. The harness was repaired and a hydruaulic hose was cut and wrapped around it to prevent it from happening again. I have seen this on FD's with wheels and tires that are to big, but mine were stock.
