Question What companies offer extended warranties for FD

I've heard conflicting reports on some companies do and they really don't insure turbo cars. Can someone tell me where I can get an extended warranty for my 94 FD?

They will be glad to take your money, sure. Several still offer warranties.

Are they worth it? Absolutely not.

They will find a way to weasel out of paying anything, especially if your car is modified in ANY way.

There are several companies that provide these warranties, but many have a bad track record for paying for things (as mentioned above). I bought one for my FD from WarrantyByNet, and so far I can't complain too much. I've had about $450 worth of work paid for by them, and considering I paid around $1500 for it, I'm only $1000 off of having at least broken even. I have to get my ride into a shop so that they can fix my climate control system (odd problems with it ), and at this point I don't anticipate any problems with getting them to pay for it.

One word of advice though...make sure that when you go in for work that you:

1. Don't go in too often. The insurance company will nail you and send an adjustor out every time, and the adjustors are ******** that are hired to deny your claims.

2. Don't go for too much at once. I went in and had a shop look at my FD only to have them tell me that it needed like $4000 worth of work. I tried to claim it and and adjustor came out and denied my entire claim. I had to fight for about 2 weeks to get them to pay for the suspension work because they claimed that the rest (engine stuff mostly) was "preexisting", and that kind of stuff isn't covered.

So...buy the policy, wait a while, then go in, and don't expect a new car, and certainly not right away.
