Wastegate wide open, new turbo leaking oil, and hood won't pop

Ok, so here are some problems with my FD.

I have a Tial 46mm Wastegate, for some reason it seems to stay open. Does anyone know why that is? It's attached to a T04S turbo.

Then I have a T04S Turbo, the problem with it is that it seems to be leaking a bit of oil from the intake side. It's a brand new turbo though. Is it supposed to be leaking a little oil?

Also, when I went to open the hood just now, I would pull the lever that opens the hood, but when I pull it, there is no resistance. I can hear a little click, but it still doesn't open. Anyway to fix this and any ideas on how I could pop the hood?

Thanks for the help.

Well I am not sure if I am hearing you right but if your able to get the hood up a little and the release lever doesn't work thats prolly because the release didn't fully let go if thats even possible with the hood already coming up a little. Either way you can always pull the line that goes to the release up near the front and release it that way.

As for the oil leaking on the turbo...Is it leaking in the center cartridge or at the fitting where the oil feed/releases are? If it's just at the turbo lines, take off the line and put some new teflon tape around it. Then tighten it down and check for the leak.

NOTE: Careful getting any teflon tape in the oil feed. Clogging that would starve your turbo of oil and bad things would follow.

Check the wastegate for any cracks or if it has a blast ring make sure thats still there and not cracked either. Be careful how much you drive with this wide open and a possible oil leak in your turbo. You could over spin that turbo and it might have oil flow problems at the moment.

GL man

I got the hood to open. I was just being paranoid for the moment being.

It's actually leaking where the turbine is, from the intake side, it's just a little though.

Also, I'm not driving the car until it gets a tune up. I've got the power FC and I'm trying to get it to do the Learn Idle, but it doesn't seem like it wants to. It keeps going between 750RPMs to 3000RPMs. I'm not going to drive it until all that is fixed.

Man I would be worried about that turbo. If anything the oil you see on the turbo is oil that should be lubricating the bearings. I wouldn't run the turbo anymore until you know for sure since it could be a very easy fix now or a very expensive fix later.

Yea I know what you mean. That's why I posted on here as soon as possible. Could it possibly be a broken O-ring? maybe the new turbo needs a rebuild.........
