Want your opinion on a 1995 rx-7

I wanted to know what your opinions were on a 1995 rx-7 white on black 93,000 miles original engine. I know that I definetly need a new engine. I could probably get the car for around $14,000. Do you think this is a good deal? The car is in excellent shape outside in. Thanks

Well... if it wasn't a 1995, I would say it isnt worth a dime over 10,000... but theres many factors that will up the price..

1. there were only 500 1995's
2. its white on black, rare
3. is it a manual or auto????
4. still running on original engine at 93k... means it was most likely well kept
5. its a rx7

If its in good condition, then yes, its worth around 14,000... but only if its a manual.

Now heres some food for thought, a bottom line rebuild will be around 2500, then you got your typicals... 500-1000. Can you afford to put out about 17,500?

That's a very good price for a 95, even if the engine doesn't have much left -- assuming the rest of the car is in good shape. If the paint or interior is bad in anyway, you might want to haggle a bit more. Still a good price though.

Definately good deal. For some perspective. I got a 95 w/ 53k on original motor and turbos and all stock. It's white exterior with tan seats and carpet, but black everything else (interior panels, dash, etc.). The car is in excellent a condition outside and in and I paid 19.5k for it (its as far as I could talk the guy down).
