Venting blow off valves..best cover for intake?

hey all Im planning on venting my blow off valves to the atmosphere. I have an apexi intake, whats the best thing to use to cork off the tubing to the intakes?

the engine will be getting it's air regardless. If anything, it's BETTER, because the air will be cold, not hot air that just came from the turbo.

our FD has MAP sensor, it doesn't matter if the bov vents to atomsphere or not. stock bov vents to intake to keep the noise level down.

I thought i read somwhere, that when the car is idling (like in traffic) the bov lines suck air backwards bc of vaccuum. Can anyone verify this? If it is true, i would reccomend at least corking or placing a breather on the end of the bov lines that you dissconnected from the airbox.

that is, of course, if you did the home-made bov vent trick.

I'm looking at doing this mod too, is it just as simple as sliding the BOV off the hose coming from the intake and corking up the hose? Should I be worried about breaking anything? hehe. Is there anything I have to loosen first?

And back to the original thread question, a rubber stopper would work fine, but how large?

Well, the rubber stopper I used was in my apexi intake tubing, so its a bit different. Regardless I believe it was around 3/4 an inch wide at the thickest part.

And for the vacuum of the blow off valves, wouldnt it be pulling air in backwards then since it vents the excess pressure, wouldnt it mess things up if it pulled air in two different areas, one thats meant to pull air in, and one thats meant to blow out excess?

My GReddy Type-S BOV has an adjustment screw on top to adjust the spring. I adjusted to vent below 20mHg of vacuum. My car at idle has about 18 so is closed. When I upshift vacuum goes up to 25 venting excess pressure out. But just in case I have a fine SS mesh covering the outlet of the BOV...

I wouldnt recomend to drive without a filter on the factory BOV (actually is a "air bypass valve"). Get a small valve cover filter or a motorcycle cone filter from a parts store. The other plastic valve below ABV is the charge relieve valve and it would be a waste to vent filtered air out. Hope I helped some...
