Vented hood?

Just finished my single conversion and I am in the need for a vented hood. I think the lack of air flow due to FMIC is making my intake temps too high. So which one and from whom? What brand fits the best? Who has the best prices? Thanks for any imput.

personally i think the KnighSports and Scoot hoods would be the most functional. more open area, but I have nothing to back that.

how can your intake temps be high with a front mount? I could understand your water temps but not intake temps.

I just purchased the madaspeed knock off from the site mentioned above. My body shop who is painting the hood thinks it is build right. The first one received was cracked and the return was handled with utmost customer care.

If nothing else, the vented hood allows much faster cool down as heat rises and pulls air from under the car out the hood. This became an obvious advantage for me as my wife didn't like me opening the hood and releasing all the heat at once into the garage. The more the Fd engine is ventilated and cooled, the better. The original design team wanted a low, sleek, compact, front end with unfortunately little underhood ventialtion. See the book, RX-7.

I could be way off but between the heat soak and intake only pulling hot air out of my engine bay I would think a vented hood would help release some heat and allow some cool air into intake?? I was seeing 36-38 last Saturday night while driving to and from track. Once I sat in line for races I was getting 50's and saw 60 once. I am also considering a IC cooler (NX). Any suggestions on how to get better air flow to intake?

i am not understanding. heat soak?! high intake temps?! you got a front mount, it's supposed to lower intake temps and stop heat soak. how do you know your intake temps are increasing? where do you have the sensor mounted for your gauge?
