Vancouver RX-7 needs help getting thru Aircare
I just imported my rx-7 from Japan. It's everything I wanted and more, but it's failed aircare and the mech I used to try and get it thru diagnosed some probs, but didn't have the expertise to fix em. Does anyone have any recommendations for the two biggest probs
1) Gas seems to be mixing in with my oil. Reeks of gas when I pull the dipstick.
2) Catalytic converter doesn't seem to be doing it's job. Mazda wants $2000 for a new one. INSANE!!!! Is this a must have to pass AC?
thanks!

just buy a new cat from somewhere. they're like 100$ online. and tell your mazda dealer they are ******* scammers and you'll burn down their building.
you might consider replacing the o2 sensor as well. again about 20$ online for a generic one.

Gas smell is normal. Change it often.
New cat is that expensive from Mazda. Used ones are a hundred bucks, but hopefully they won't force you to buy new. In the US some inspections will not allow any used exhaust parts ever, and that can suck big time.
