Unusual things I spotted for FDs on Japan sites
So I was browsing through some Japanese websites for stuff on FDs and ran across some pretty interesting things:
First, a body kit from Garage Rise-Up:
Found at:

I don't think that this front end isn't so bad. Although from some angles it does look goofy.
Next, I ran across a site while I was searching on info on the mysterious bigfoot-like dreaded RX7 wagon hatch. Check out his DIY section and take a look at how he converts his headlights to use Nissan Cima (Infiniti Q45) seven-lense projectors. There's also a DIY guide to converting your rear tails to LED.

Anyways, back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Wonder how those headlights would look inside the Knightsport kit.

In Japan I've seen quite a number of guys with the flip-up plate holders...not really uncommon. I imagine it would be the same here (I haven't encountered it so I don't know), but if a cop in Japan sees your car with a flip holder like that, even if the plate is down, they can ticket you for it.
Wish I could see more pics of that wagon-hatch! This guy has some interesting ideas!

The wagon hatch is actually an old thing going back to at least '96. I remember some guy named Non Fujita use to enter his purple FD into car shows around that time and was the first time I ever saw a wagon hatch.
While it sure does bring out the disgust like no other, it's actually an easily reversible thing since its just a hatch replacement. The other thing is the extreme rarity of the hatch, as it is mostly seen in Japan and I still haven't ever heard of who manufactures it.

Some of you guys are really behind the times.
The hatch/wagon thing is old. A good few years now.
And yes, Non Fujita w/ his first project car (the FD) built it w/ a hatch at one point (the first RX-7 hatch/wagon in the US).
Then moved on the his 240sx w/ Tomei engine.
His shop is gone now BTW.
Here is his old FD, now in Arizona. http://www.i-m-racing.com/noname6.html
