Any suggestions? I just had the fuel pump out to install my other walbro, both filter "socks" are clean, tank is clean, etc etc. Is there anything I'm missing here? Whenever I make a left turn the car just loses all power and sputters/bucks/etc.. once I start going straight again the car will usually backfire extremely loudly and then return to normal.

I had similar problem.
Do you have the Power FC/ Commander?
If so, go to the Sensor Check Page and you or a passenger monitor it to see if anything is highlighted when it does "bog down"(you turn left).
My problem was caused by the oil metering clip was not completly fastened and the sensors would be highlighted, only when I turned sharply left.
If you do not and all else checks; see if you can grab you harness near the area of the oil metering connection where connects the main harness and wiggle it to see if it "bogs" And do get your arms caght in the belt/belts.
Sound like a wiring issue. Good luck

Do you have a stock fuel pump? How many miles? How much gas is in the tank when it happens? A friend of mine had the same problem with any where from 3/8 of a tank to empty. Turned out his fuel sock was dirty and the fuel would move away from the pick up and sputter, gets going straight and its fine. Put in a new fuel pump with the sock and it all good (his old one had 175K on it at the time).

Well I'm running dual walbro's with new fuel filter socks, and before it was still doing this with one walbro.
Tonight I unplugged my twin power, and just hooked up the ignition stock--and the car wouldn't even start. I plugged the twin power back in, and it would barely start and couldn't hold idle.. and the tach needle was going crazy, not reading engine rpm at all.
All of this was in my garage, not moving.
Any suggestions?

so if you have the car at a stand still and turn the wheel left, does it still sputter?
or does it just occur when you are moving.
If it is just when your moving, I would double check your work with the fuel pumps and socks and fuel system.

May want to look over the wiring for you coils. Also check the wire coming off the trigger wheel sensor, sometimes they get routed incorrectly and might be catching on a belt.

I have a similar problem that is very intermittent. It has not come up in the past few months since these threads. But mine would cut out on right turns only. I’m fairly convinced that it’s electrical shorting somewhere.
I’ve also heard that the engine harness could become damaged on the right side of the car on the inside of the fender well. This may explain your problem with left turns but not mine. I’ve also checked that area and my tire has not worn through the plastic fender well.
I’ll check my oil metering pump connection, that is a new suggestion.
Here are my threads, which probably don’t help you at all.

Found the problem (well, a few problems).
First, I wasn't getting spark for whatever reason, I dont really know why. I unplugged my coils, plugged them back in, bolted them down, and I was then getting spark, when previously I wasn't.
Second, I was getting really intermittant fuel pressure, and it was really wierd. I took it all apart, and just plugged in one of my walbro's. I'm starting to believe all the hype that the stock wiring isnt enough to handle two fuel pumps. I'll find out tomarrow if this is in fact the case.
Finally, I found out what was causing my car NOT to start at all, and I'm hoping it was why I couldn't make left turns (it makes sense anyways). Two of the sets of wires running over the main crank pulley had been rubbing against the pulley, and it wore through one of the wires. I put on a temporary jumper (dont worry, not permamant at all, just to test if this would fix the car, and get it to start). You can see the wire in this picture:
Anyways, thanks for the help guys. Hope this thread might help someone in the future.
