I'm also figuring in costs for the peripheral stuff: bigger intercooler, bigger fuel injectors, bigger fuel pump, reprogrammed or standalone ECU, manual boost controller, intake ... maybe a hi-flow cat. It's not like you can just buy a single turbo kit and drop it in. Well, you could try doing that ... but chances are you'll blow something up.

If you are not willing to spend around $7k on stuff for a single conversion than i would say just replace your twins. Sounds like your turbo went, both coolant and oil run through the twins, so you could see a combo or either or depending on where the turbo shaft let go, and there will be a LOT of constant smoke if you did blow one of your turbos. Trust me, going single will run you a lot more than you think:

Single turbo kit: 3000-3500
Power FC: 1000
commander: 350
1600 injectors, fuel rail: 5-600
boost controller: 50-400
dyno-tuning: 500-800 depending on how good of a job you want
upgraded fuel pump: 200

thats around 6 grand right there, if you want to do it right, and thats assuming you have:
1) A strong motor to take this much power
2) an upgraded intercooler and correct piping
3) after market Blow of valve
4) upgraded radiator

just a few things to think about, my .02 cents

I done this too. It's easy when you're reading old threads.
