Turbo Drain Line...
I recently upgraded my cracked turbo manifold and it moved my turbo an inch back. Which is good but caused a small problem.
The turbo oil drain line used to come straight out of the bottom and into the iron. It always flowed down with gravity.
The new setup caused a pinch in the line so I opted to find a pre-molded piece that had a loop in it so it would be longer and hopefully have more room to keep from pinching. But because of this, it now has to defy gravity a little in order to enter the iron.
Does the fact that it has to defy gravity ever so slightly hinder it in any way? Will I harm the turbo if it remains like this? BTW it's only like a 2-5 degree incline.

Basically, I just need to know if the line absolutely must be gravity fed back into the motor. I'd rather not lose a turbo.

A loop if the hose is all below the turbocharger oil discharge only provides additional line length that would establish some restricaiton to the oil flow back to the oil pan. Conversely, if the loop goes above the oil discharge it would pool oil in the turbo oil cavity but would apply little back pressure to the drain capability. In either case the line lengths must be kept minimally restrictive. I would not be comfortable with the "loops" as I have never seen the configuration used.
