My 5th gear grinds going in. Trans has 78k on it. Would I be better off buying a used trans or just getting the trans serviced? What do you guys think?

If it's just fifth, then it's probably just the synchro. I would get it serviced.

It would also be a good idea to have the main input shaft bearing changed, while it's out.
