Tranny problem
I had to limp my Rex bacl home from Miami to West Palm Beach. I was going to get it towed but it would take them 3 hours tocome out with a flat bed and it would have cost me $200 for 75 miles. I yes I limp the car back home for 75 miles. The problem is the clutch will not engage. I have a hard time putting it in gear(almost impossible). I have to pull the clutch up then pump it and make sure the car is in neutral to start the car. Almost immediately the clutch willsink back down and will not go back up. Even if I pull it back up and pump it will not let me put the car in gear. Then when I miraculously put the car in gear I try pressing the clutch and to see if the RPM sill go up but it would not. seems like the pedal could not activate the clutch. I think the clutch is not sticking because if it did I would have smelled it on my 70 mile trip back home at 50MPH. I'm thinking its a broken fork. The new torque brace might be the culprit for the trainny problem. Ever since I put it in I have been having problem shifting in 1st,2nd,3rd and Reverse. Any one have a different opinion on my trainny problem?

i dont think it would be a broking clutch fork because that has nothing to do with the hydraulics crapping out...its most likely the clutch master cylinder... It might also be the clutch line, it may have a small leak in it...just get a ss braided clutch line to replace it with......while you are replacing those you will most likely want to replace or rebuild the clutch slave if you arent sure as to which one is the problem...one of these three of more is most likely whats causing your problem..good luck and peace out

I got the same problem last year but not as worse as this because I could still shift back then when I put in my new ACT SS clutch and HD Pressure plate. I also threw in the Fidanza 8.5lbs flywheel. I took it to Petit to find out what was wrong with it since it was my first clutch job and they told me i had a bad master slave cylinder. I had them replaced it and installed the steel braided clutch line as well. I looked underneath the car and I didn't see any oil. I hope its the clutch master cylinder because its easily acessible for me I have to bring it to a shop for the clutch slave cylinder since my car is lowered. How do you trouble shoot which one is bad?

I think you'll need to take it to a shop anyway then to verify the clutch fork is ok.
I've heard it's a good idea to rebuild/replace both the master and slave at the same time, since a new one greatly increases line pressure and can often fail the unreplaced one in short order. But that's just what I heard - YMMV.

Its fix now it was the clutch slave cylinder. I'm not going to change the master cylinder since it was replace brand new last year. The mech just rebuilt the clutch slave and its good to go. Now its Dyno time :-)
