That's a shame
They've not botehred getting back to me about my enquiry, so guess I'm going to have to pursue other avenues
For 90 bucks plus the shipping it'll cost me to get them over to me in the UK, I'd expect something of a decent quality

statement from rennenmetal:
"The units ARE cut with a computer guided plasma and thus there is a little blow out on the back side of each hole. If we used water jet or laser, which we do in some of our other products, there is no variation on the back side of the hole. There would however be an increase in cost.
These products are made by a racer for racers and are meant to be functional. The quality of the back side of the hole has no effect on how they operate. If you have a show car, these units are not for you. The powedercoating is for corrosion protection and the matt finish was chosen over the glass finish to reduce the chances of reflection on a race track. Again....not meant for a show car."

Toe hooks not there to look pretty, I mean it can but that's not what it's for. I dont see the big deal with the holes, just redrill them to a circle. I mean it's much cheaper than the feed toehook, I could careless about the coating since I would get it recoat it in a color I want (the tip part)

ITs not as pretty as the FEED hooks... but when I bought mine, there wasn't a choice of FEED or knock off feed.
To be honest, once you install it, its hardly noticeable. I mean, I painted mine red and sometimes I can't even see it or notice it. I wouldn't worry too much either, as these things will probably lift the entire car vertically with it (pending what bolts you use.. as bolts will likely to give out before the hook itself).

I disagree with you guys. The quality shown in those pictures is freaking horrible..... Rennenmetal should be ashamed of themselves. I wouldnt mount those on my car.
I've had my hands on two sets of their hooks in the past and they didn't like nearly as bad. They were at least passable.

Don't get me wrong, I would be pissed for that kind of quality especially coming from FEED parts... either it does the job or not (I understand its a "race" piece, but come on!! We also street, track, show, and hang out with fellow enthusiasts who are even more **** than us... Like RICH ! ).

the problem is, not only the screw holes are bad, they are also way to large. the screw diameter is much smaller. That means, the screw washers have nearly no space to tighten up the whole thing and if you pull your car, the tow hook will move. And that sucks, its not the problem, that its no shiny part. Since its black, it's nearly invisible on my black fd, but for 90$ i at least expected round holes with the right diameter :S.

i put it on yesterday after i solved several problems. The first problem was, that the ac bracket will not fit together with the bracket of the tow hook. i had to modify the ac bracket (cut the red part, took of the bung on the top and welded it with 5mm distance, zinc coated and painted the whole thing). The big screw from the bottom of the tow hook bracket (not shown on the picture) was very hard to put in, so i had to re-tap the screw thread. That done i tried to put on everything with the screws, snapring and washer from rennenmetal. The big screw worked, but the screw for the yellow marked hole was too thick, it hit the metal bracket from the ac cooler that holds the rubber block, so i couldn't use that one. afterwards i tried the oem screw and it worked.
When i tried to put on the ac bracket (after the bottom big screw of the tow hook bracket is in), i used double sided tape first to get it held on the tow hook bracket, because its impossible to reach this place with your hands and adjust everything in the right angle without losing the screw.
result: the tow hook from rennenmetal will work with the AC System and the 99spec bumper, but it's not a direct bolt on.

Thats how i wanna run mine, i have that exact space and i wanna mount it to the same location at the same bolt hole. I can see it when i sit in front of the oil cooler duct. I just need a bracket with the right angle.
I have a greddy FMIC, thats why.

I bought the rear tow hook. It arrived a couple days ago but haven't installed it yet. I have a 99 front bumper and it didn't sound like the front hook would fit. I don't run my car at the track. I just needed to get some kind of hook incase the day ever comes where I need to call AAA and get it up on a flat bed.
