You guys are nuts to pay $600+ per month for an FD, especially only making ~$1500 per month. Maybe I'm special or just live in the right area, but I bought my FD when I was 23 and paid around $100 per month for full coverage on the FD and liability on my DD Chevy Beretta. I had Gieco.

I think it might be more of a east coast/west coast thing as I do live in a metropolitan area.

I wouldn't say that. Reliability should start at the make of the car, and maintanence should be on part of the user. If you have to be playing mechanic all the time (as most do with rotaries), then it can't be called reliable no matter how easy or difficult it is to fix.

The two coast have more residents than most other parts of the country with some exception. I'll tell you that if you work in Maryland or Virginia, and travel between the states during the commute, you may also go through D.C. meaning you see quite a bit of travel time respectively, but also a lot of other traffic (which when accidents occur drive up rates). They'll look at the population of your zip code (and I believe where you work also), amount of miles traveled and how many claims are reported for a given vehicle- a few criteria that exist outside of a users control. If you live in parts of NY city for example, your rates are going to be that much higher anyway, as opposed to most other parts of the east coast. As most older people (completed higher level education, and settled into a career) tend to be able to afford multiple vehicles, they also recieve discounts for more than one car and having the home under the insurance. Most anyone under 25, with an FD insured under their own name as the only vehicle, is going to be paying quite a bit. I know in the case of state farm, they won't even accept most people in that age bracket.

rx7 in my opinion is better than the rx8, but if you did that to an 8 you should be forced to drive a civic , not to be fecisious, but in your situation, you shouldnt be driving a car with that much power, plus your insurance is gonna nail u both ways

Sorry KID, but at your age, you should be taking the bus or get a Yugo. You're going to kill yourself. With an FD on the street, you need good judgement, and at 18, only wrectlessness. Case in point, a totalled RX-8.

BTW: RX-8 is a slow car and I think it's ugly. I really try to like it (because my buddy has one) but everytime I see one, it just look odd to me, or something. Maybe, its design is very un-proportional.
