torque brace question

ive seen the TQ brace being sold, and i know that it is supposed to benfit from rocking and saving amotor mount or something. i did a search and just couldnt find my answer. here is the question. will the TQ brace help ease the 2nd to 3rd gear upshift? i seem to get a lot of 1-2-5 shifts and im not jamming gears at all. what do you guys think. one more thing, OT, when i went to ricks rotary, he told me that some bushings in the rear were bad, for the suspension. does anyone know which ones they are. i believe they are the spherical bearings. anyone have a part number?

the torque brace will help the 2-3 shift. That's mostly what they are there for.

If thats true, where do you get them! I'm sick of the 1-2-5 look like an *** shift pattern.

There are several companies that make them. Also there are several types, like RIKKI's they have them from the strut bar, the ABS area, off the actual strut bar, weld job, and other custom ways...

looks like you put some work in RIKKI. Does that bracket at the fender side hold all that good? Hard to see....

Or you can do it like this guy:

and remove the airpump, and attach the brace to the bolts that the airpump uses. (you can't see it very well in the picture, I saw this car at Hot Import Nights and noticed the torque brace right away.)

HEY!!!! I did the same thing! Works great for shifting. Cost me a total of $6.00 in nuts/bolts and cutting blade.

Well, I fell in love with Chripsy's Tripple-R Reagon torque brace. Not for the 2-3rd shifts though. Just for the way it made the car feel. I swear it makes it feel brand new. all the slack is taken up from on and off throttle jerks, etc. running high boost, you can really feal the engine lock in on hard acceleration. RIkki's look good, I was so impressed I have done 2 group buys on it now, they are machined at a shop, etc and ready for install. Anyway, check it out. They moved the old archive out, so I can't reference there. but this one has some good info.

If you guys want one, I have a few left on this GB, and I know the RX-7 Store will be carrying one soon.

I have solid diff' bushings, the torque brace, and an aluminum flywheel. The drives bloody amzing. Just the shifting, throttle , eveything is improved.

Yeah I haven't missed a 3rd gear shift since about the first couple of months I owned my FD... if I had broken motor mounts or PPF it would be worse. Actually, my shifter started moving around too much and I found some of my PPF bolts were loose. Wonder how often that happens to others.
