WOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!
The Car
'93 Touring
Montego Blue
116k on body
~30k on JDM motor
~30k on tranny
Twin-intake setup
APEXi BOV
APEXi AVC-D boost controller
APEXi S-AFC II
Greddy Turbo Timer
OS Giken twin-disc clutch
OS Giken pressure-plate
OS Giken lightened-flywheel
3" Greddy down-pipe
3" High-Flow Cat
3" APEXi N1 cat-back exhaust
Taylor Pro UBER thick braided-core spark plug wires
18" rims (forgot brand & style)
245/40/18 tires in the front
285/30/18 tires in the rear
Lots-o-gauges :P
Like I said...
Quirks:
Only running 8psi? I never saw it hit 10psi once. (boost controller turned down?)
Clutch makes a shh-shh-shh sound when I press it in. (uh oh?)
Very notchy shifting (cause of Giken stuff?)
Running rich (but I'm afraid to touch the S-AFC II)
Gotta re-circulate or close off some stock air-lines. Causing rough idle.
Stock BOV and APEXi BOV working together? Umm...no.
Too MANY gauges...half don't work...and they're cheap euro ones.
Check Engine light is on (Owner says cause of o2 sensor on dp?)
Cruise control light blinks? (W-T-F mate?)
Speakers cut in and out. Driver's works, other ones cut in and out.
First Impression
First, I'm gonna take out most of the gauges, and remove the passenger- side "JDM" pod gauge. Replace the non-working A/F gauge on the driver's side pod-gauge with the boost gauge that's currently placed under my radio, and isn't even friggin visible because the head-unit flips down and covers it up.
Next, or rather, Wednesday, I'm taking it by Mazcare for a compression test, overal diagnostic, and general overview of goods n' bads that need to be taken care of. Oil-change too. Tune-up with some 20W50 oil, new OEM filter, and install the new plug wires (they're not in yet).
I'm also gonna put the APEXi BOV right where the stock one is. Obviously it's stupid and/or not smart to have both. The stock is set atmospheric right now, and from the experience with my T2, I know that's useless, and no good.
Future
Because I financed the car, I think it would be foolish to add any performance modifications. Honestly my first "mods" I'd like to do would be an R1 lip, '96-'99 JDM tail-lights, window tint, POSSIBLY roll the fenders, and eventually a '99 front-end and rear spoiler.
Final Thought
Well, I couldn't be happier. Initially, it did **** me off that he didn't tell me about all these little "quirks" that I listed. As a seller, I think you owe it to the buyer to be completely honest. It makes the transaction and follow-up go alot smoother. I've only had it about one day now, and I'm already getting over the quirks. I'm loving it more and more by the minute.
I LOVE the attention I'm getting from friends and people I don't even know. I've already got ricers giving me nods and thumbs-up, and every single girl telling me it's "pretty" or "cute". GOD I'm an attention *****. haha
Well, that's all for now. Unless I get another raise soon and can AFFORD motor mods, that's it for now.
Whatcha think??
^_^
P.S. If you live in Georgia and own an FC or FD, I'd love to start some kind of Georgia get-together thing. I've already PMed some local rotaryheads here on the forums. I can't wait to start a group thing.

nice car, however, I personally would not have bought the car without doing a compression test FIRST. You are looking to do it AFTER you bought the car? You already own it... had you done it before, and found out it had a dying engine, that would have ended the sale, or you could have gotten it for much lower. Looks like you went on emotion rather than with your head.
Other than the ricey interior gauges, car looks good. Hopefully your compression test works out and you didn't get a lemon...

I'll sell it though, if you want. It glows nicely, and matches the other gauges well...but that's about it. :P
- To the other guy,
That device mounted on my glove box is a black-face S-AFC II.
P.S. thanks for all the compliments

I think you might want to relocate those to center cuz they'll distract you when driving on busy streets.
all in all... very nice fd...love the deep dish rims... you gotta post the brand...

i never knew of any car that had gauges mounted on the pillar of the opposite side of the driver LOL..unless you are always carrying a passenger reading off to you what those critical gauges are reading, i dont see any point for it being there..
it looks sooooo funny..
but def nice car, congrats on it..

Congradulations on the FD Yoshi. I remember you were trying to get financing together when I bought mine. I have a black base and live in Rockdale county it's basically stock with some reliabilty mods. Good luck with the car.

ConGrats, nice car.
I had the S-AFC in my FD when I purchased it. I found it was a neat little theft deterrent. Just unplug it and watch the map sensor (I forgot if the voltage went low or high) go nuts. The car will not start. Plug it back and boom, you're back on the road. Never had a flooding problem so I assumed it sent the map sensor to 0 volts instead of 5 which would make it ECU think you're at full boost.
Also when you remove it you'll have to reconnect some wires to the ECU, so be careful. Watch what you're doing. Then sell it for more mod money. The thing is usless if you have the PFC.
