don't spread yourself to thin, you want to be able to enjoy the car and not always be hurting for money. I've had an Fd since i was 16 so i've been down the road you are going and its not fun. Just recently i got all my **** payed off and its a lot more fun that way. Just dont get to in too far over your head. Also do not buy 99 spec twins, i did that aswell and would have much rather saved the money and went bnr's or just gone single turbo in the first place. They are not worth the money. Good luck

lol, sounds like me when I was 18.

When I was 18 I saw an rx7 at a book store, I had no clue what kind of car it was, but it was definitely the sexiest car I had ever seen. I found out what kind of car it was, and I decided to start saving for it!

When I was 18 I was still fulltime in HS(february), I decided to work like mad, worked until 11:00-1:00 every nite after school. Worked 50 hours during the week and did anything I could to make money on the weekends(worked around 25-30hours every weekend).

I did that for 3 months, I had saved up 15k, and paid cash for my rx7!/tags'title/6months of car insurance.

I also was compulsive in my buying, I should have searched around, I have spent 14k on fixing my car in the past year. I wish I had this forum when I bought my 7, it would have been alot easier on my pocket.

My reccomendation, first off, its going to be hard as all hell for you to get a loan for an almost 13 year old car, start saving your pennies, part out all that crap on your maxima(I bet you could get 5k out of all of it). Get a job, talk to the locals in the NE forum, we'll gladly help yah find a 7, and make sure its mechanically sound. We have soooo many rx7 veterans in this area, every single problem has happened to their car, and they know how to prevent it/fix it. We even have our own Rx7 garage w/ a car lift/all the tools you would need(I also have my own personal shop, and you are welcome there to work on your car(its a HVAC shop but I have every tool you could need).

In all, just save up your money, give me a call, I pm'ed you w/ my number, well help you out any way we can, I'll even drive out to B-More to pick you up in my FD to goto the 7 garage ><!

We'll talk about what to do when you meet all of us! see yah man!
