I considered the Tanabe - ended up with a Greddy SP2. They're likely similar in sound/etc.

Hard thing is to tell how loud it is with downpipe/midpipe or downpipe/HF cat. Damn near everything is quiet with a stock main cat/sequential twins.

BTW, sounds like the car in the video needs my patented $1 anti-moo device for the airpump .

Not saying the airpump is bad - the air pump relief makes all sorts of noise. Here's my writeup to make a SUPER easy, small, and cheap silencer for a buck -

Takes all the goofy air pump sounds out.

Now back to the thread....

It's about time they offered a quiet one. The rest of their offerings are loud enough to wake the dead

Exactly. And who the hell wants a quiet exhaust? 7s aren't sleepers so get that beast roaring.

I was about to say, Tanabe and quiet shouldn't even be used in the same sentence! But as DaleClark mentioned, it is difficult to determine the actual sound without midpipe/downpipe etc. Looks good.

Actually all of their newer exhausts are pretty nice and quiet, which is a welcome change. I've got the Medalion Touring (dual) on my SC300 and it's very nice, deep and mellow.

Quiet is the new loud

I probably got used to how quiet my SC was compared with the FD which has been non-op for 4 years now...so I no longer want a loud exhaust (anyone want to buy an Apexi GT Spec?). I can take my girl on a fancy date and not feel embarrassed at the valet... I'm almost 27 for chrissakes

I think with DP and a submuffler/midpipe should still be pretty tame. Should be similar to the RB sound levels, but better looking.

Is it quieter than the Racing Beat duals? Or is it guessed/maybe same tone range as BlackR1 said above? I'm all about getting something quieter than my Blitz NurSpec....

Dale,

Ive got the sp2 with an unresonated midpipe. Its easily bearable, but it IS loud. I dont know how it wouldve sounded with my resonater but the resonater droned so much I couldnt stand it. You will be very happy. And these two exhaust do look very similar.

IMO, with a stock main cat, the issue isn't loudness outside the car, it's droning inside.

How is this exhaust for that?
