T3/T4 now or wait to do it right?

What up my brothers? I have a T3/T4 at the house with the stainless manifold already. I got it from a friend of mine. It is about two years old but still in the box--same with the manifold. My question is this: in your opinion, should I go ahead and put this on and convert to a single or should I wait for the turbo I want and do it right?

First of all to get a few ambiguities out of the way. I have already decided to go single. Plus, I want to do the conversion before I go to North Dakota because I have some friends here in SA that can get me out of a bind if I happen to screw some **** up. I doubt there are a lot of rotary savvy people up in ND.

So, what do you all think. I aleady have the Power FC and a larger SMIC. All I will need now is the external wastegate, new downpipe, and injectors. Talk to me fellas, what do you think?

Also, any inputs for turbos you might recommend will be appreciated as well.

Peace, Quid

By the way, I have to report to ND in December.

Why do the same work twice? If it's not what you want, don't do it.

However, you actually might like the turbo once it's on the car and you drive it around. If you know for absolute certain that you will be running a different turbo, then just wait. If you are undecided on what turbo you want to use, try the one out you have.

I am with you on the same work twice philosophy. My concern is that I will get up to Minot AFB in North Dakota and no one will be around to help me if I need it. At least here I have a few buddies that can lend a hand. I want to go ahead and do it so that when the time comes to get a larger turbo, i can just change the turbo and maybe the manifold. I just want to make sure I get it running right.

You know, i was wondering if I would like it well enough to keep it. Do you think it will pull a lot harder than the stock twins?

If you are looking for "big power", the T3/T4 is not the turbo for you. But if you are looking for similar performance as the stock twins but with the simplicity of a single, that will probably fit the bill.
