Sun Roof removal

Has anyone removed thier sun roof from their touring model and replaced it with a solid piece and new head liner?
Is there a write up anywhere?
thanks

I would imagine it would be rather difficult to match the concave dip in the middle of the roof line with the new piece.

To make any real difference, you'd need to replace the entire roof. You are better off with one of the following suggestions:

1. Sell your car and buy one without a sunroof
2. Get an aftermarket seat which can give you some additional headroom

Best to find a wreck and go to town with the spot-weld drill and grinder to get a non-sunroof top. As well as the added headroom, we found the sunroof was in the region of 15kg. You'll be up for a new liner and switchgear if you are concerned about aesthetics.
