I wont be competition sliding it until next season. The motor is sorted out quite well thanks to the PO. But it needs suspension, diff, knuckles, and a bucket for starters. That and it needs caged but prob wont happen this winter so that means no Tandem well kinda LOL

The PO is a good friend of mine that used the car for local car shows and the highway pulls. He's actually really excited that im going to slide it and really use the car.

The previous owner painted it a Subaru WRX 2003 Blue Mica Pearl, He was having a hard time finding the JDM only blue FD color and found that the subie color was very close and was easy to get.

As much as I would rather see an FD out on the track, rather than rotting in the garage, that one seems too nice to drift. S13's are a dime a dozen, keep that one to wreck. haha

I'm not gonna ruin "crash it". Its a different chassis so i'm going to get comfortable sliding it by starting 2 gear slower transitions its a new learning curve. First day out i'm not gonna manji the straight go 80mph well unless i feel good but idk we'll see.

Its the nicest car i've ever owned so i don't plan on just ******* it up.

Thanks for the comments guys I'll keep ya updated

heres a little vid of me earlier this season during practice. Im missing rear aero because i tapped the wall and sorry for the low quality it was filmed on a point and shot camera

Does not cause confidence that the same will not happen to the FD. =)

Drifting this car will be like Kanye West coming on stage, while I was receiving my MTV music award, and stealing the mic right outta my hand and spittin in my face that I suck ***.
Hurts so bad because his opinion is what matters to me.

Moral of this story is:
I love Kanye West.
He is God.

and I never make sense.

If you said your going to start jumping your FD with a monster truck, most of us over 16 would think it's stupid. Your car, might be fun for a while, but it's still stupid. I'm certainly not going to admire it. Especially when alot of other cars are suitable replacements. Not to mention the OP insists he's not going to "crash it" but in the same post admits he did just that with his old car.

Hopefully the OP will give us all a head's up before starting the inevitable parts- for-sale thread.[/QUOTE]

Tapping a wall can deff happen, thats reality but its not gonna stop me from sliding it. I hear Miatas are suitable replacements for auto crossing because all FD's should stay hidden in a garage and only taken out on nice days to putt around town LOL. There are some FD owners that remind me of Old men I work with that drive Corvettes

Man that is a really nice clean car to drift but you paid for it so...

The reason people are flaming on the idea is because really nice/clean FD's are getting harder to find everyday, and regardless of what is said Drift is HARD on any car.

That was one of the most boring drift courses/videos I've ever seen and why does it sound like the person taping is doing private things in public.

In case you haven't noticed, the Rx-7 come down in value, a new younger generation of Rx-7 owners has arisen (such as yourself.) A whole new level of dumb has been brought to this forum by illiterate brain dead kids, who take perfectly good Rx-7s and rice them out, or destroy them.
Then you have the new kids on the block that change their spark plugs and feel like they need to tell the entire wold about it by starting a new thread and posing a sentence and a picture (Thanks for your useless contribution.) Lets not forget the internet super mechanics that have no actual experience working on cars; but have read plenty of threads on the subject being discussed and find it imperative to spread their wealth of knowledge, even though the information they are posting is incorrect and potentially dangerous.

In my experience old men buy corvettes to look cool, not Rx-7s. Actually most of the older Rx-7 owners here take their cars to the race track... after all the Rx-7 is a sports car and was made to turn both left and right, and it does it well Do a little more research before throwing out generalizations

Don't forget to start a thread asking where to find the cheapest ebay parts, who cares about quality anymore?

Aggressive Stance+ Aggressive Wheels = Aggressive Car

By todays standards suken wheels have no place on these types of cars, so step up or get left behind.
I can't wait for your VW fitment on the FD, maybe you and 20b rx7 should chat about wheel fitment since he's got it MASTERED.

OMG an RX-7 ON A RACE TRACK!
